Awesome cake! I made this for my sister-in-law's birthday and topped it with the 'One Minute Chocolate Icing' by Sandy from this site and it was a hit. Definately a keeper.

It really is too much chocolate. I would consider making this for a group, but just to have around the house . . . One piece is enough to put you off chocolate for a while. And I'm not a wimp when it comes to chocolate. I didn't have enough eggs or pudding mix to make the bundt cake, so I halved the recipe and made 12 full cupcakes, no icing. I chopped (actually more like half-chopped, half-shaved) the chocolate chips with a large knife because I was concerned about them sinking to the bottom or not melting enough in the 25 minutes I baked the cupcakes. But they came out pretty much perfect. Might be good as a one-off dessert served with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream to temper the chocolate overload. A lot like pricier restaurant desserts.

I made this for as a dessert for a college Homecoming tailgate party. It was very easy to make and was very popular People fought over the last piece! I will definitely make this again in the future.

This is excellent cake! I frosted this with the cream cheese frosting from "awesome carrot cake" and it had incredible flavor.

This is the first "doctored" cake recipe I've tried. It tasted great, very moist. If you use it to make a layer cake, beware; don't let it overbake, and be very careful when cutting the layers, the chocolate chips are like little rocks that must be dealt with delicately so as not to tear the cake layer. I layered mine with strawberry preserves and iced it with Rich Chocolate Frosting.

Tasted great. Very moist and chocolaty! Better yet, it was really easy to make. I did change the recipe to make it healthier according to the suggestions posted. I substituted low-fat plain yogurt for the sour cream, apple sauce for vegetable oil, found a fat-free chocolate pudding mix, and used 4 egg whites and 2 eggs as opposed to 4 eggs all together. Too bad I didn't have mini chocolate chips! I only had the normal sized ones laying around at the time, so they all sank to the bottom of the cake. I made a 2 layer 8" cake and 6 cupcakes.

The cake was moist, but I didn't personally like the chocolate chips in it. I will try it again, but without the chips.

OMG!!!! THIS IS TRULY THE BEST! Better than the chocolate blackout cakes at Costco and restaurants! You can't go wrong with this recipe for chocolate lovers. I made it for the first time today, following the recipe exactly and it was a smashing success at my church! The cake is deliciously moist and rich - you don't need any frosting or glaze with it. I was a little apprehensive about leaving the cake in the pan for 1-1/2 hours after taking out of the oven - but it came out of the pan perfectly! Just follow the directions and you'll be very happy!

Very good cake. I made this on a whim, and used white chocolate chips instead of the semisweet chips. I would make this again!!!

I forgot to rate this recipe when I first tried it years ago. It is excellent. If we are having ice cream with it, I top it with the "satiny glaze" recipe. I have used this recipe for a fund raiser charging $25 each and sold $425 worth of cakes. That should tell you something about how good it is. As it gets closer to the holidays, people are asking me about ordering it. Enjoy.
