If I could give this recipe 10 stars, I would! I sprinkle powdered sugar on these when they are done baking. They are sinful!

This recipe is amazing! I took it to the fair, and won a blue ribbon! I would definetly recommend this. One thing though, if you don't like chocolate, don't make this! This is a chocolate lover's dream!

Wow, this cake is RICH! I topped it off with the Satiny Chocolate Glaze from this site for my hubby's bday... and it was too die for! Make sure you slice the pieces small, because it really is *almost* too much! I did use mini chocolate chips and they melted perfectly. I did have to leave it in the oven a little longer than the recipe called for. I just couldn't seem to get it to bake for some reason, took about an hour or so.

This cake was incredible! I did the same substitutions that most other people suggested - 1/2 cup oil and 1/3 cup milk. I also made the Fluffy Peanut Butter Frosting (found on this site) and microwaved it for about 30 seconds so it would drizzle over the cake. Delicious! Got tons of compliments!

I do not consider myself to be a cake lover, and usually only eat it to be polite at birthday parties, but I do love this cake. In fact, my 11-yr-old son requested chocolate cake for his birthday, and, cringing at the thought of another store-bought mix with store-bought frosting, I came to allrecipes.com. I'm so glad I did! My only issue with this recipe is with its name: I contend that there is no such thing as "too much chocolate." That said, this certainly is a cake for those who really love chocolate! Very moist, dense and flavorful, there can surely not be a better chocolate cake recipe anywhere, and as for me, I have stopped looking. This was very easy to make. I used the Satiny Chocolate Glaze with this, and it was wonderful, but this cake doesn't really need icing. Try this - you won't be disappointed.

I enjoyed the taste of the cake but really didn't think it was anything special. I felt I could've had the same results if I just added chocolate chips to any devils food cake mix without having to do more than that.

Good cake, easy to make. Topped this with the Satiny Chocolate Glaze and it made a wonderful dessert. I recommend a bundt or star bundt pan...it looks really nice!

I love this cake, it is quick and easy to make! Not only does it taste wonderful it looks great too. I also use the Satiny Chocolate glaze (also on this site) to top it off. I think I might try it with a different type of cake mix, I am thinking Strawberry with vanilla pudding....hmmm....

I always make this cake for the holidays. I add a chocolate glaze to the top and garnish with sliced strawberries and powered sugar. This is a holiday favorite in my house!

FANTASTIC. I always substitute some mayo for some of the sour cream (about 1/3 C.). Great dusted with powdered sugar or drizzle some melted cream cheese frosting over it.

SOOOOO good! very rich! this cake does NOT need icing, though. I frosted mine with buttercream and it was waaay to sweet for me. It would be perfect by itself. A friend told me it was the best chocolate cake they ever tasted.

This cake was great...very moist and very easy....the only change I made was to use 1/2 c. oil. I made it in a bundt pan & it turned out perfect. Thanks!

Thanks Denise for the fabulous recipe! Normally I don't change recipes on the first try unless I have to, but from reading the reviews I loved the idea of: replacing water with coffee, using 1 cup mini chocolate chips, and 1/2 cup oil, 1/2 cup milk. Turned out delicious, moist, and chocolaty and I got lots of compliments on it. :) I think it's hard to go wrong with this one ... will definitely be making it again!

This was very good for a quick chocolate cake, but still says "I'm a cake mix from a box" in the end. If you are pressed for time, this is a great choice, but nothing beats a Chocolate zucchini cake for a home made, super moist chocolate cake.
