I love vineger or sauces with "zing". This appetizer looks great on just about any plate. TIP - grab the first couple of people that walk bye (kids will think it is fun) and get a mini-assembly line going, prep time is now just 5 minutes.

I cut the oil and vinegar and just tossed the ingredients instead of using the tooth picks. It was great!

This is a great appetizer! It went out in a flash. The basil was just the right touch and it wasn't too strong as I initially thought it would be. I was skeptical that everything would fit on a regular toothpick, but they did and the plate looked so appealing with the red and green. As some suggested, I drizzled a balsamic vinegar reduction (I just heated the vinegar it on low until it became syrupy) on it and that added to the flavor. Thank you for sharing this recipe!

This was ok, but it REALLY depends on the mozzarella used. I'd give it more stars except when everyone has a modified version of a recipe to make it work, then the recipe itself isn't 5 stars.

I was looking for a recipe to use up my cherry tomatoes and fresh herbs from my garden....and this one hit the spot! Husband LOVED them too! Next time I will use garlic sea salt OR garlic salt w/parsley for more flavor. I definitely think adding garlic in some form would make this even more delicious! Use extra salt, and definitely drizzle marinade over top instead of serving alongside the dish. I am going to make this all the time now!

These are wonderful! I like to drizzle the sauce over the the finished tomatoes and cheese. Then I sprinkled them with McCormick's Mediterranean Spiced Sea Salt. This is a fantastic blend of sea salt with garlic, basil and oregano. It really added a gourmet touch! Look for it with the other spices; it comes in a round can about 2 inches tall.

I made this for our Labor Day cookout and am so mad I forgot to take a picture! These didn't last long at all - a huge hit and lots of compliments. This is my kind of recipe - quick and easy but tastes like you spent hours! The tomates I used were from our garden. Fabulous!

I use grape tomatoes and mozzarella balls approximately the same size and cut both in half, placing them on a toothpick starting with 1/2 tomato, piece of basil, mozzarella, basil and tomato, place them on serving dish....then I make an olive tapenade and drizzle that over the tomato, mozzarella bites.....delicious!tapenade recipe is as follows:1/4 cup chopped pitted kalmata olives, 1/2 cup xtra v. OO, 1/4 tsp minced garlic, 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper, pinch dried oregano..mix all in a mini blender and pulse until blended..drizzle over tomato bites....now it is a 5 star!! this tapenade freezes well for future use!

This is like salad caprese on a stick! I've also made this adding a piece of salami to make it an antipasto appetizer.

This is a great easy recipe. For the reviewers that state there is little taste and to make sure you use salt. Fresh Mozzarella - regardless of the size of the ball is made without salt...if you want the salt, then use packaged mozzarella like you would find in the dairy department that is packaged into squares. This was very delicious and easy to make. Would make again, making sure to marinate everything together for a couple of hours.

Great idea! Thank you for sharing. We love tomato mozzarella salad. These were perfect little bite size finger food for our cookout. They disappeared fast. Next time I will make the garlic olive oil dipping sauce for some extra flavor.
