Excellent way to use excess tomatoes. I substituted cut up fresh tomatoes.

The combination of the tangy Feta with a really high quality Basalmic vinegar (aged and syrupy)is key. I substituted scallions for onions (for color, mostly) and added chopped english cucumber to this and it was terrific.

Normally I wouldn't rate a recipe if I didn't follow it to a tee, but I don't think my substituting white wine vinegar for balsamic made much difference. It was okay. Very strong.

Just made it and ate it. Delightful! Love the feta and balsamic. The basil was fresh from my garden. I can see myself making this once a week as long as tomatoes are ripe and yummy and the basil is bushy.

I was afraid the onions were going to be over powering, but they were not, at all. Really yummy

I had some mozzarella cheese to use up and was looking for tomato recipes and found this - even though it calls for feta I knew the mozzarella would work and wow did it ever. I used a red onion and sliced it very thin then cut those in half - I like a thin slice on a red onion rather than chunks. This salad is so good - I'm drooling just thinking about having it for my lunch. Make sure to use fresh basil and enjoy. So easy and so good.

My husband and I love this salad, and he always manages to beat me to the last of it. It gets better at the end of the bowl that it is at the beginning. When I am in a hurry, I use a store bought balsamic vinagette with basil. Last of all, this salad is beautiful on a bed of greens.

Great recipe. I used a store bought feta cheese labeled as "mediterranean mix" (olives, sun dried tomatoes tossed in w/crumbled feta). It really brought some nice flavors to the salad. I also added some plum tomatoes. Next time will garnish it with some fresh spinach-just to add some more green. Thanks for the recipe.

Made this recipe for a cookout for 40 people and it was a BIG hit. Great for using up all of those summer cherry tomatoes. Also made this recipe and used crumbled bleu cheese because we were out of feta. It was very good...but not as good as the feta.

Well, I should have guessed that I wasn't going to like balsamic vinegar, but I love all the other ingredients, so I thought I'd try it anyway. Unfortunately, I won't be making this again, unless I somehow acquire a taste for balsamic vinegar. It was nice to try something different, though.

I just made this for a 4th of July Barbecue, and it was great. I didn't realize that I was almost out of olive oil, so only used about a tablespoon (I quadrupled the entire recipe to serve 16 people). I thought I would add more once getting to my friend's house, but it ended up tasting great without the extra oil, making it lower in calories, too! Quick and simple, and full of flavor. (I also sprinkled on some Cavender's Greek Seasoning for an extra kick).

YUMMY! So fresh and delicious! Feta is a wonderful addition to marinated tomoatoes! Can't wait to make it in the summer with garden tomatoes and basil. I might do 1/2 red wine vinegar and 1/2 balsamic next time as the balsamic was a little sweet for my tatses. Mt fiance on the other hand loved this as is. Will make again! Thanks for the great recipe.

Tasty and simple - one of those wonderful recipes that is greater than the sum of its parts. I used a red onion because I thought the mellower flavor would be nice, and I added quite a bit of black pepper and a little salt (feta is fairly salty on its own, so I went easy until I tasted it).

Excellent!! Loved this fresh tasting salad.....I did use 4 medium tomatoes which I seeded and chopped, a handful of basil, reduced fat feta, fresh cracked pepper, 1 tblspn. balsamic and 1 tblspn. olive oil with 3 tablsns. chopped vidalia onion. Family inhaled it and there are no leftovers....will make again soon.....paired this up with Greek Chicken recipe on this site and grilled asparagus. Excellent dinner!
