Absolutely delicious! I substituted skim milk for heavy cream and cut out a bit of the butter and the sauce still turned out very nice.

Wow! my family loved this, I added a green and yellow pepper and served it with a breaded chicken patti and penne pasta topped with mozarella cheese. I did double this since I have a large family. I did use milk and 1/2 tablespoon of cornstarch because I didn't have heavy cream. I also used regular diced tomatoes since that is all i had on hand. But it was great.

This was great! I followed others' tips and pureed for our kids, and used 1% milk instead of cream to make it more healthy. I'm sure it would be creamier with the cream, but it was still rich enough with the milk. Great, easy sauce.

This was a hit with the fiance. It works so well over penne pasta and is a wonderful cream based sauce. Next time I will probably add some parmesan cheese to it to give it some cheesyness. Instead of using heavy cream I used half and half just to watch the fat and cholesterol. Over all a wonderful sauce.

I liked this sauce, but didn't love this sauce. I was hoping it would measure up to a tomato/cream sauce I had last week while dining out...it didn't. It was ok, but had too many onions for our liking. I'll keep looking for a closer match to the restaurant sauce.

yumm! so easy! This recipe turned out great.I added italian stle pureed tomatioes instead of diced tomatoes then I tossed the sauce with penne pasta covered with a generous sprinkle of parmesean and baked an additional 20 minutes. Next time I will add turkey sausage, green peppers, purple onion, and maybe top with mozzarela. I will definetly be making this again!

Wonderful recipe - doubled it with ease. I had fresh basil on hand and it was delicious. I also blended it a bit as I don't like tomato chunks, so it was thinner than I anticipated. I think I would use rotini next time instead of spaghetti because the sauce will stick to rotini better. Definately a keeper.

This was very tasty, I didn't have heavy cream so i sub with low fat organic milk and cream cheese, with a half tablespoon of corn starch to thicken the sauce! Will use again and again. Thanks

Loved It! I added kielbasa, diced chicken breasts, black olives, fresh spinach, oregano, fennel seed and garlic powder. My kids asked for seconds, which they normally wouldn't with this kind of dish...a true hit! I also served over whole wheat pasta. Oh...I used 1/2 & 1/2 rather than heavy cream. I'll definitely be making again. Thanks for sharing!

I think this is an excellent sauce. I added meat to mine because I like meat sauce but it is definitely optional.

This is a truly magnificent sauce in that it is easy to put together and taste divine! I only used 2 med. onions since 3 seemed like a lot and of course seasoned to taste. Other than that I followed the recipe and was immensely pleased.

This is a great sauce and easy to make. I added more garlic than called for. I also added some cooked chicken strips one night to the sauce and the family loved it.

This was a very good sauce, though I did make a couple of changes: I omitted the sugar, used fresh basil, two garlic cloves, and 1% milk instead of cream. I served it over whole wheat penne with diced chicken, and it was delicious!

Its a brilliant recipe and i will be giving it a go, but the only down side is is that its fattening with the whipped cream in it. So i cant keep making it as a regular dinner for the family. But apart from that it looks like it will make a nic meal for everybody.
