Not great! Sorry but maybe it's missing something... didn't taste good at all and even the smell was off. I will not make this again.

Recipe is simple and tastes great. If you really want to take it to the next level without much effort, add sliced black olives, sliced mushrooms, and capers for authentic Italian flavor. The addition of the previous three ingredients really makes this dish taste shine. :)

I love this recipe! I didn't have any italian diced tomatoes so I used some petite diced tomatoes instead. I also add some fried italian sausage. So good! One of my ultimate comfort foods!

Well, I was really excited to make this, but it just didn't turn out how I expected. I think one attributing factor is that I must have chosen too big of an onion. I think I will try this again, but definitely with less onion. It looks great in the picture, but what I ended up with was a very thin and oily sauce. I think I will run the leftover through my food processor and add some jarred sauce to it and it will be quite good.

I tried the recipe as written, but we didn't care for it. However, this may be easily attributable to two things: first, the recipe merely called for "one onion" (rather than specifying a specific size or amount of chopped onion) and I think the onion I used must have been about double the size of what was needed; second, the recipe stated a yield of 5 servings so I cooked a 5-serving amount of pasta to match but I think the sauce was stretched far too thin. The overall result was a bland oniony glaze. The next day I reheated the leftovers with a storebought can of spaghetti sauce and it was great - probably did benefit from the cream of the previous sauce. Willing to try again but will reduce onion and alter ratio of sauce to pasta.

Flavors were good, but overall the sauce was just ok. It's a very thin sauce. My young boys didn't care for it much. Probably won't make again.

My husband loved this! I put this sauce over 4 cheese ravioli. I was nervous when I started making the sauce because my husband does not like onions or large chunks of tomatoes. For my husband I after letting the onions, can of diced tomatoes and spices simmer together I threw them into a vita-mix blender and blended them, then added the cream and butter. It turned out wonderful! I gave the recipe 4 stars instead of 5 simply because my 2 daughters 8 and 22 mo. would not eat it, I think their taste buds might not be ready for this one just yet. I will make it again for me and my husband though! Great sauce!

I doubled the recipe and blended it as suggested. It tasted great and was easy to make. My husband and four kids all gave it a thumbs-up so we'll be having it again soon.

I did not really like this recipe. I made it as directed except for doubling the ingredients and it just didn't taste right. Maybe it was my can of tinned tomates(used San Marzano tomatoes) I probably would not try this again.

This recipe was so good...and easy! I must admit I couldn't help but add another clove of garlic and then a dash of cayenne with the other seasonings. It was perfect. I served grilled chicken in strips on top of the pasta and used whole wheat rotini. It was wonderful!

Fantastic recipe! Like a previous poster suggested, I blended the sauce in the bullet and poured directly on the pasta. I also used 2 chopped up tomatoes instead of the can of Italian tomatoes and it still turned out great. I used this sauce over gnocchi and wow, what a meal!

Delicious and flexible! I didn't have cream, so I used 2% milk - cooked and reduced it by half - and it turned out wonderfully. I also love garlic, so after sauteing the onions a little I threw in 5 cloves of sliced garlic and cooked until soft. I didn't need more or less salt or spices. I served it over cheese tortellinis :) Yummmmm!

Loaded with flavor and easy-breezy to whip up! I gave this a 4 because if followed as written its texture is a bit too chunky/not pasta coating friendly as a sauce. Next time I will blend as others suggested. I used 3 cloves garlic, 1/2 and 1/2 vs. cream and served over italian gnochi with garlic toast and a ceasar salad, great color and taste combo.

I LOVE Tomato Cream Sauce, and this recipe is a godsend! It's SO delicious. I did throw it in the blender for a thicker consistency after following the recipe. For someone without a blender, perhaps substituting the diced tomato with canned tomato sauce and herbs would yield a similar result.
