Never again will I buy another pre-made jar of alfredo sauce. I made a mess while making this, but the taste made up for it. I added some chicken with garlic and to make it a little more healthy (but not much, ha!) I used whole wheat spaghetti and it was still great. I will be making this again for sure, but it will be a while do to all the calories. :)

The Name says it all! The only thing I changed is I added chicken. I cut the chicken up into bite size pieces and cooked it in the pan with the butter before I added the cream. It got rave reviews from my husband and my kids loved it too. I will defenitly make this again.

husband said it was by far the best fettuccine he has ever had ever ever ever! i thought it was pretty yummy myself...cut the servings in half, because its just me and him for now, but next time will add more cream or milk or something to make the alfredo less grainy. otherwise, YUMMY!

973 calories per serving? No thank you! I made and ate this last night, and no lie, today I'm 3 pounds heavier. I should've checked the calorie and fat before I made it :(

This recipe was so easy! I did change some things around. I did equal amounts of butter and cream (1 cup each) I also added 2 tablespoons of flour to the cream before melting the butter and I increased the amount of the cheese. Great starter recipe!

This is absolutely delicious! I had some leftover salmon which I flaked up and added to the sauce to make Salmon Fettuccine Alfredo. I also added some more of the cheeses to make it just a bit thicker. Definitely a keeper! I may add some fresh herbs next time just to mix it up a bit. Thanks for a wonderful recipe!

This alfredo sauce is the best I've made. I've tried other recipes for alfredo & they all came out grainy. This sauce is nice & smooth. My husband is an alfredo freak & he said this one is the only one he wants me to make ever again. Thanks for the great recipe!

What an incredibly recipe. I only used 12 oz of fettucini which was the spinach kind. Also I added chicken and sauteed mushroom to the sauce once finished. Wow, this tasted great....better than most restaurants. Thanks for the easy recipe!

We have been making this alfredo sauce for about two years, and I wanted to share a hint. If you sift a little bit of cornstarch into your shredded cheese, and squeeze some fresh lemon juice into the sauce while you are adding your cheese, it will become nice and creamy. We love this recipe, but we also change it a little by adding freshly minced garlic and some asiago along with the romano and parmesan. This stuff is so good we dip our bread into it!

Wow!! This turned out perfect the first time I made it. I added more cheese and threw in two smashed (but still whole)garlic cloves. I put penne in each person's bowl, and let them add as much sauce as they wanted. By keeping it seperate, the leftovers were very easy to reheat. I put a splash of milk in the bottom of my saucepan, and put the heat on low until the butter in the sauce melted, then turned it up a bit. That worked great. My status in the kitchen has been raised to QUEEN.

This tastes awesome! I usually add 1 sm clove of garlic, which is super yummy. I have yet to perfect the whole creamy sauce thing, but the taste makes it worth it. I realized tonight I have been using shredded cheese instead of grated...not sure if that makes a difference...but still super yummy even if it looks a little werid!

I have made this recipe several times over the years and it is my FAVORITE! I only use this one when making alfredo. I will say that the recipe as stated is lacking a little flavor. I have added parsley and LOTS of italien seasoning. I also add steamed broccoli and seasoned chicken. Very good!

I made this again last night and just realized I've been doing it wrong, but in a good way. I only use 1 stick of butter, which is 1/2 cup vs. the one whole cup called for. And I just add the whole pint of cream. I also added some leftover Easter ham and a pinch of red pepper flakes. I just love this recipe it's so rich and versatile. Last time I added chicken and broccoli. Next time I think I will try it with crumbled bacon.

The flavor is definitely restaurant quality. We loved it! The only reason I am giving it 4 stars is because I could not get it to thicken despite adding extra cheese. I will certainly make this again, but try to figure out how to make it a little thicker.
