I've tried a few recipes like this, they don't come close to the flavour and ease of this one. I add some sliced mushrooms along with red and green pepper chunks and diced tomatoes. Its amazing if you portion it out in bakeware and melt some mozarella on top until it turns a hint of golden brown.

I made this for Valentine's Day dinner with my husband and he loved it! He said I could definitely compete with Olive Garden :) I used the following ingredients: 16oz box fettuccine, 3/4 cups butter (1/2 cup salted, 1/4 cup unsalted), 1 pint heavy whipping cream, 5oz container of a blend of shredded parmesan, romano, and asiago cheese, 1 additional cup of freshly grated parmesan, and salt, pepper, and garlic salt to taste. The cheese did not blend in completely but it wasn't a big deal. I also added 1.5lbs of shrimp cooked in butter and garlic. The pasta came out with plenty of sauce and I served it with garlic bread. It was a BIG hit!

Out of this world! Identical to Olive Garden. Only had half a pint of heavy cream, added 1/4 1% milk and turned out great still. Husband raved and raved! Will make again.

MMMM YUMMMY! I'm 15 and sometimes cook for my family because my parents are so busy. This fettuccine alfredo is now my favorite pasta. The sauce was really cheesy but oh my gosh so good. I couldn't stop eating this and now I feel fat haha!

All you taste is the butter (greasy) flavor. You don't get the overall flavor of the cream and garlic as with really good fettuccine alfredo.

It was too salty and bland. Maybe I would try it next time with unsalted butter and more garlic (I added two cloves this time).

This recipe was the best I have ever tasted! It was simple and the recipe came out perfect. I only made 12oz of fettucine though. I thought 24oz seemed like a lot. I think this is even better than restaurant alfredo!

My sauce wasnt as smooth and creamy as i would have liked but the taste was great! It didnt thicken up that well either. I topped the dish with crispy boneless skinless chicken. I pounded it thin, and cut into strips after frying. I had the worst stomach ache that night. I dont think my stomach can handle all that fat content!!

Of course, I've eaten Fettuccine Alfredo before, but never made it. As I was stirring the butter into the cream, my arteries were screaming to stop, but I persisted, and the result was delicious. Although I hate when people rate recipes after they've made numerous permutations, I have to say that I added peas (added them frozen to the colander and thawed/cooked them while draining the pasta) and leftover chunks of Christmas turkey. However, I think the important part of the recipe to rate is the sauce, which does get 5 stars for ease of preparation and excellent taste. I had lemon juice on hand to add in case the cheese wasn't melting nicely like some other reviewers mentioned, but never needed it, the sauce came together beautifully (even despite my yet-another addition of some shredded pizza cheese). Thank goodness I made this recipe before New Year's diet resolution time!

I think this would have been a really great Fettuccine had I not added so much pasta. It ended up being a little dry, but still very good.

This was delicious! We like chicken and broccoli with our Fetuccine alfredo so I fried some chicken in a little bit of vegetable oil and a lot of garlic and steamed some broccoli. The only other changes I made were using a pre-packaged cheese mixture of romano, parmesan and asiago and I did end up adding some extra grated parmesan. It was excellent! My husband took one bite and had a great compliment for me! Thanks for sharing!

not my favorite version of alfredo, wasn't as creamy and dried up on our plates before we were done eating.

Made this for a group of people (none of which had ever had Fettuccine Alfredo) and it was a big hit. Not very healthy but delicious. I cooked for chicken breast strips with garlic and mixed it. DELICIOUS!
