Great cake. I made this for Thanksgiving and everyone loved it. I followed the recipe as is but may add more instant coffee the next time.

this was my first time to ever bake anything this fancy. I do a lot of cooking but just now starting to try baking. The only problem I had with this cake was that my layers were sliding off one another. I think next time (which there will for sure be a next time) I will freeze the cake layers before stacking. My hubby is italian and has been begging me for years to make this. He LOVED it and so did his Italian grandpa!!! thanks for such an amazing recipe!!

OMG! This is wonderful. I did take other reviewers suggestions. I did add 4 teaspoons of the instant coffee to the cake and made two coffee layers. My big change to the reicpe is I used Baileys coffee flavored Irish cream instead of the liquor. I also doubled the Irish Cream in the cake mix 2 TBS. Filling: I added 3TBS Irish Cream. Frosting: I added 4TBS Irish Cream. I do agree with the others about putting the cake in the frig over night it does set the cake frosting perfectly.

Very good recipe! Used a german chocolate cake mix! I added Coffee Tequila and doubled it everywhere it called for it. I also replaced 1/3 of the water for the cake mix with strong brewed coffee. This was spectacular!!

Nice! Easy way to make tiramisu. Be sure to let the ladyfingers soak all the espresso.

OMG- this is the BEST cake I have ever made.We had to bring an Italian dessert to a dinner party for 10 so I decided to try this recipe based on all the rave reviews that I read. It was AWESOME! I followed the advice that most reviewers said to make two of the layers with the coffee flavor and one with the plain using three 8" pans. I doubled the filling layer, (it almost seemed like that was too much but do it anyway- you won't be sorry) and also doubled the Kahlua everywhere else it was called for. I was afraid the finished cake wouldn't be high enough to be "impressive" but once you add the filling and put the frosting on, it was perfect. So light and fluffy. My husband said this is now his favorite cake. I can't wait to make it again.

I lose some points for presentation myself, b/c I only have two 9" pans, making this only a dual layer cake. If anyone is interested, the batter makes just under 4 cups, which may help you when trying to divide it evenly into the pans. Followed the ingredients to a tee, I love classic tiramisu, and this is a great variation!

I made this exactly as written and This was super easy to make. The second time I made it I tried an easier route and made this in two layers instead of three. I simply poured half the batter into one cake pan, then added the coffee powder into the second. It still worked out great and since it was easier, I will do this next time as well. Even people who were hesitant to try this because they didnt like coffee recipes said they loved it! My husband ate like half the cake the first day :D

I didn't know how to add to my previous review....I had to add that you CAN make this the night before. Don't be afraid. This makes the cake even more awesome for me, because I have three kids. To be able to make a cake, in peace, after I put them to bed and it be wonderful the next day is.....a blessing. Enjoy!

I made this for my husband's birthday, and he loved it. I made my own white cake, instead of using a boxed mix (we don't do packaged stuff), and had to make my own mascarpone because I couldn't find any in my area. The results were great, though. Even over the next few days, as it got soggier and soggier in the refrigerator, it just got better and better! ;)

I found a picture of a Tiramisu Wedding Cake when I googled it. It's a 3 tier cake rimmed with chocolate drizzled ladyfingers wrapped in a beautiful ribbon. I made this for my daughters Christening, because I was doing an Italian theme. Flavors were perfect. I bought instant espresso to put in cakes. Used two layers coffee and one vanilla on each stack. Used long dowels to hold all three tiers together. Made the day before so flavors would meld together. Would recommend this cake as a alternative to plain cake that is served at every party. Everyone will want the recipe. Good luck!

This was a fantastic way to save time and give the Tiramisu a bit more to it with the cake layer. A nice change to traditional Tiramisu.
