i didn't try this recipe yet so i cant rate it. Most of the photos look look like it is purchased from a restaurant so i don't think ill have any problem making it this coming weekend! (i had to give it a rating but i didn't try it yet. im guessing it will turn out awsome!)

As far as taste goes, this was so good! I love tiramisu, & wanted to try this for my birthday. I wasn't disappointed at all! I didn't over-do the cake soaking, but I actually like it like that - not too mushy. The only problem I had was with the frosting - no way did mine look like the picture, & it was pretty runny & hard to manage. I put a bit more powdered sugar in & that helped a little. Still, well worth the hunt for mascarpone (finally found it at Target, of all places, in the deli section)!

I have made this cake several times now and I always get good feedback. My husband LOVES it! I have rushed through the recipe and "messed" up, but the results were still delicious. My advice is to read each step carefully as you go. Don't wing it from memory.

Tasted good but everything was RUNNY. I followed the recipe exactly. I don't get it. Thank goodness I made it for dessert on soup night so I could just dump it into a big bowl and call it a soupy dessert.

Awesome!! I made this one for my own birthday... As per other reviews, I used extra coffee, extra espresso powder, extra coffee liqueur and two coffee cake layers instead of one. I did make my own cake batter though using the BH&G White Cake recipe (didn't even consider the pkg mix for a second) and froze the layers before stacking (overnight, in fact). Also, from another review, used a mascarpone substitute: 1 (8oz) pkg cream cheese, 1/4 cup heavy cream, 2 TBSP sour cream. AND for the garnish: I folded up a coffee filter, cut myself a nostalgic snowflake and dusted the cocoa over the stencil... It was for MY birthday, after all! :-)

I used coffee flavored mascarpone and doubled the coffee-flavored products. This was a HUGE success!

I'm rating this for my husband. Every year we go out to eat for his birthday, and he always gets tiramisu for dessert. This year we couldn't afford to go out, so I made this cake for him instead. He loved it, and said it tasted just like tiramisu from a restaurant. I'd never had tiramisu before, as I don't like coffee or alcohol, so that's why I'm rating it for him instead of for myself. I thought the alcohol taste was very strong, and I did not like it at all. But it was for him, not me, and he liked it, so that's all that matters. FYI, I couldn't find mascarpone anywhere here, so I used tweaked a substitute recipe I found.

This was sooo good! My roommate and I fought over who got to lick the spatula when I finished the icing... now I know just to make a little bit extra to keep the peace. :) This is my most popular desert expermient so far.

I made this for my friend's birthday, and it was delicious!! However maybe I went wrong somewhere- but my filling and frosting just kind of kept going everywhere! It even dripped on the table! So I kept it in the freezer. it was almost like an ice cream cake. If I had known it was going to be like that, I wouldn't have made it in December. This definitely isn't a cake that you can take to church and leave out on a table for an hour. or something. And next time I think I'm just going to use coolwhip instead of making the frosting because that's basically what it tasted like and maybe coolwhip wouldn't melt so much. Despite all this, the cake is actually very, very very tasty. Next time I'm gonna use more Kahlua and forget the coffee!

I had made this cake to take to work and I had so many compliments and several requests for the recipe. The cake has several steps involved but overall it is easy. I also made it for a Pampered Chef party that had an italian theme and it was a hit. Hands down it is a 5 stars. In the region I live I could not find the marcapone cheese so on this web site there is a substitute marscapone cheese and it worked well in the recipe.

Easy, but I cannot give it a 5 for flavor. I prepared exactly as directed. Next time I will use more coffee and liqueur. I think 3/4 to 1 cup of coffee with about 4 tbl of liqueur.

A great recipe that presents itself very well. i followed others' advice and doubled the coffee and kahlua. My only problem was that my filling was way too runny -- i'm not quite sure what I did incorrectly. It still tasted good, but a lot of the filling oozed out of the layers.

This was SO good!! The presentation is absolutely beautiful, everyone thought that I had bought the cake. It seems more time consuming than it actually is, but is well worth the effort!

This cake was AWESOME!! I made if for a dinner party and everyone said it tasted like it came from a bakery. Even my friend that is famous for her desserts actually asked ME for the receipe! As suggested I made two coffee layers and one white and added a little more Kalua to the filling and frosting. I also made a substitue Mascarpone cheese from a recipe I found on this website. I didn't have 9 inch cake pans so I used 8 inch and the cake must have been a foot high! Very impressive. I will definitly make this again.

Very good I doubled Kahlua where called for also I wish I would have added more of the coffee/Kahlua mixture to the layers..I was afraid they were going to be soggy so i held back but needed more. Only negative I found was not enough chocolate flavor for my taste would add a chocolate layer in the middle of cake next time. Hint: any left over frosting ( whipped cream and Kahlua ) tasted fantastic served on top of Kahlua and hot coffee served to guests
