What can I say? I just got home from the get-together I served this at. People who never liked Tiramisu ate up their entire piece and came looking for more. My Tiramisu lovers' eyes grew wide at first taste, and at the last bite, proclaimed it among the best theyd ever tasted! As for me, I found out that I don't care much for Tiramisu. But how can I argue with every single person who tasted this one tonight? FYI: I used the homemade Ladyfingers recipe on here and I am SOOO glad I did! I think it is a MUST, the ONLY way to go! I used an 8x8 springform pan, just be sure to run a knife along the edge before opening the spring to serve. Be sure to leave in the fridge a few days before serving to let the flavors coagulate. This recipe is so straightfoward. Thanks for makin' me look like a rock star tonight!

Great recipe. My foodie friends said it was as good as any at a restaurant. But you definitely need to double or triple the amount of coffee. I made it exactly according to instructions at first and there was hardly any coffee flavor. I didn't get any enthusiastic compliments that time. It is also quite difficult to split the lady fingers in half lengthwise when using the hard lady fingers (soft ones were too hard to find, even in NYC). The 2nd time, I did not split the cookies, and I rolled each whole cookie in a bowl with the coffee mixture. This turned out perfectly. It was not too much ladyfingers at all, as it smushes down with the moisture of the coffee and surrounding filling. I also combined the egg mixture and whipped cream for simplicity, as most recipes do. Absolutely fine. Also, I saved a scoop of the mixture for a personal parfait, and I used nilla wafers b/c i ran out of lady fingers. the nilla wafers worked great! (I wouldn't use them for a whole pan tiramisu, but for a parfait it was totally fine).

Awesome! I made it just as the recipe was written. EXCEPT I folded the whipped cream into the mascarpone cheese mixture and then layered that with the lady fingers. TOO DIE FOR! Even my daughter who doesn't like Tiramisu loved it. Thanks for a great recipe.

I made this recipe for the first time for a bake-off and it won! I followed the advice of others and I made it well in advance of my competition to give the flavor plenty of time to come out. Also, I doubled the coffee and liquor quantities. (I used half rum, and half Godiva Milk Chocolate liquor and it was great!) Like others, I could not find ladyfingers and used the recipe on this site. The two recipes are very complimentary. Thank you for posting, it was wonderful and I would recommend to anyone looking to impress!

Absolutely delicious!! and really not too hard to make. I used a springform pan to get it to look like the picture - presentation was beautiful. I did lightly brush the interior of the vertical ladyfingers with the coffeemixture. Like others, I doubled the amount of coffee mixture and used Disarrano Amaretto. I was too afraid of soaking the layers of lady fingers and did not quite use all of the coffee mixture - don't be afraid, it would have been the perfect amount. Also, used Hershey's Special Dark cocoa powder, thought that was perfect. Don't forget to include cocoa powder as part of the layering process - directions not very clear on that. I will definitly make this again because of the ease of preparation for such a decadent dessert!

This was fabulous! Definitely get the lady fingers nice and soggy for the best effect. Mine weren't as juicy and it was missing something. Next time I'll double the coffee/rum as others suggested.

I totally agree with other reviews to double up the cofee. I used Starbuck's cofee liquer with mine and it was delicious. I've made this recipe twice already. The first time, I didn't double up the cofee and copied what the sample picture looked. It was delicious but realized that it definetely needed more coffee ( did not read reviews before making it.). Second time, I actually did something different..I used three of those GLAD sandwich container and layered them like the direction says. I got the idea because it's just me and my husband and wanted to freeze some for next time (We didn't want to eat them everyday! We wish!). After letting all the ingredients come together for about a day, IT was delicious and much better than the first time(doubled up the cofee)and we have left overs for next time we have the cravings....

Restaurant quality or better! Time consuming, but so simple to prepare! I baked my own lady fingers(easy)and added half bar of cream cheese to 8oz of Mascarpone cheese and the flavor was immense, elegant and balanced. The texture was light, creamy and fluffy! You must let the flavor bloom over night in the fridge. Must DO!

Just made this for a family gathering and it turned out sooo good!! I made mine with 3 layers and cut the fingers for the bottom and top layers in half and used whole fingers in the middle. I used a bread pan and let it sit in the fridge for a day and a half. Will definetly make this again!!!

This turned out WONDERFUL! A few tips, just like a lot of reviewers said, I actually tripled my coffee mixture (I used Kaluha instead of rum). Also, do not whip the cream too stiff or it will be hard to spread (found this out the hard way!) The lady fingers I bought were really skinny, so i didn't have enough to put around the sides for presentation. I will definitely make this again!

This recipe is awesome! It is realy easy to make and the preperation is well worth the time. You do need to double the coffee, but I left the rum out. I made this for a dinner party I threw a couple of weeks ago and everyone though I was an amazing cook - the whole thing was gone by the end of the night. Make this at your next gathering and you will be the star of the evening.

This tiramisu was the best! I used twice as much coffee as suggested and think it could have still used a little more. I also would add a little sugar to the heavy whipping cream. Overall, excellent recipe!

I tried out this recipe, and I'll tell you it is one of the best if not the best Tiramisu recipe that I have ever tried. I do agree with with another comment above. Due double the coffee and rum. The only thing that I did change was that I didn't cut the lady finger in half. I used 4 boxes of lady finger instead of 2 and I double the heavy cream.

Very creamy and delicious tiramisu. I used the mascarpone substitute recipe from this site and it still came out good. Like the other reviewers suggested, you definitely need at least 1/2 cup of coffee. I omitted the rum and it still came out good.

OMG - this was absolutely fabulous!! The only alterations I made were from previous reviews: doubled the espresso to 1/2 cup and used 2 Tbsp. dark rum and 2 Tbsp. Kahlua painted on underside of lady fingers with a pastry brush. I also used a springform pan. Next time I'll be layering it in a loaf pan to make more layers and using just the Kahlua and no rum. Everything else is just right! My mothers had requested this for her birthday cake this year and she said it was just as she had imagined it would be! A must to use the mascarpone cheese and to allow flavors to mingle in the refrigerator for 2 days. Also, I didn't even use a full teaspoon of cocoa to sprinkle over the top - a full tablespoon would make it too thick IMHO. This one is definitely going in my recipe box to stay! You will NOT be disappointed - worth the time to make the homemade custard to end up with such an elegant and rich dessert will very little prep work!

This is the best tiramisu I have ever had. It was very easy to make and impressed everyone at my dinner party. Like other reviewers, I made it 2 days in advance. I used espresso instead of coffee and doubled the rum/espresso mixture. Also added a tbsp granulated sugar to the whipped cream. It turned out perfectly and I wouldn't change a thing next time!

Perfect recipe first time I made it! Helpful hints in hindsight: layer lady fingers tightly for a good cakelike layer - drizzle or brush coffee/liquor mix, I dunked and it was too strong IMO - I used espresso and coffee liquor and the flavor was great - when stirring the yoke mix over heat it will rise, make sure pot is large enough to accomodate and mine never boiled for a minute but I did cook and stir for a long while until the mix raised to more than double and was creamy throughout - if whipping cream with whisk mixer it doesn't take long at all, be careful to not over whip! I WILL MAKE THIS GREAT RECIPE AGAIN!
