A great make-ahead dish for holiday entertaining. I got lots of compliments on this and several requests for the recipe after a recent open house. I think next time I will chop the nuts and cranberries smaller as I had difficulty spreading the cheese. Great flavor and keeps well!

This is a fantastic make-ahead addition to the appetizer table. Don't change anything! You can make this and leave it uncut in the fridge until you're ready to serve. Very pretty...great mix of flavors.

It looked really pretty but it tasted bitter to me. Not sure if it was the nuts.

I make this all the time and everyone loves it. A friend suggested that in place of some of the cheese, I put luncheon ham, which I tried, and it makes this fabulous recipe even better. Just make sure to have cheese on bottom and cheese on top. That is the only variation, and the recipe is awesome!

Easy//Pretty//Tasty//Do Ahead Recipe...what's not to like. Cranberries flavor popped and pecans with the cheddar were a nice surprise. Compliments were abundant.

I made this for a recent shower. The appearance and presentation of this is what drew me. It is beautiful on a snack tray and looks like a lot of work went into it, when it's really fairly simple. The ladies all loved it and a couple of people raved on and on about it. I can't say it was my fave. I don't know, I found the chedder cheese I bought from the deli to be so strong tasting.I will certainly be making this again because so many others seemed to enjoy it. Thank you for sharing!

I made this for New Year's Eve at my son-in-law's house, who promptly dubbed it "Cheese Heaven." WONDERFUL.

What a nice addition to your party table! The only change I made was to increase the cream cheese to 12 ounces instead of 8. The combination given on the site is good, but the possiblities are endless. I made a ranch version by adding ranch mix, bacon, and green onions to cream cheese and layering with cheddar slices. You could also do an Italian version with herbs and chopped black olives.
