Thyme Green Beans with Almonds

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds fresh green beans
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon minced fresh thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/3 cup slivered almonds, toasted

Directions

  1. Place beans in a steamer basket. Place in a saucepan over 1 in. of water; bring to a boil. Cover and steam for 10-12 minutes or until crisp-tender.
  2. In a large skillet, melt butter; add the beans, thyme, salt and pepper. Cook and stir for 5 minutes or until heated through. Sprinkle with almonds.
