I really don't understand all of the rave reviews for this recipe. I really had high expectations after reading that the dressing was "TO DIE FOR" but I was very disappointed. The dressing was FAIR, AT BEST. The salad ingredients weren't all that great either. The mandarin oranges were merely mushy and barely added any flavor. Sorry!

Absolutely divine! Added some grilled chicken and served it as the main dish for a light but filling summer dinner! Delicious!

I used toasted pine nuts instead of the sugar almonds, used apple cider vinegar and a whole can of mandarins. SO GOOD!!!

I'm not typically a big "salad eater". I make them with dinner for other people and just pick at mine. Even I ate every bite of this! The only change I made was substituting a bag of mixed spinach greens instead of Romaine lettuce. The dressing is light and not-too-sweet, and the addition of the toasted almonds was awesome. Thanks for the recipe.

I made this without the celery and doubled the almonds. It was definitely a sweet salad but my husband and I both enjoyed it.

Awesome! Must have the celery in it! I was skeptical but the end product was fabulous. I used Coleman's dry mustard. Also, any kind of nut works in this.

Yummy! I made this salad to go with steaks and twice baked potatoes. I left out the sugar toasted almonds (in an attempt to cut calories). I really liked the dressing and the mandarin oranges.

I made this salad for our Christmas dinner 07, I ran out of time, so the sliced almonds didn't get browned with the sugar, next time they will!! The taste was very good, will definitely make this again!!

I fixed this salad along with homemade soup for Christmas Eve dinner and it was a hit with everyone. The salad mix was good, but the dressing was awesome! I will definitely make this salad again.

my husband and i made this salad for a holiday party last night, and everyone raved about it. usually people talk about the main dish, but last night, it was all about the wonderful salad. one friend loved the smoky taste the toasted almonds added, and one friend thought the ground mustard in the dressing added that extra somethin'. i am not a veggie person, but even i went up for thirds!

This is a 5 star salad you can serve to guests in a formal or casual setting and be proud. I prepared it exactly as it says I think. To clarify, I used extra virgin olive oil and distilled white vinigar. We loved the tangy dressing.

I used this recipe for the dressing and it was TO-DIE-FOR GOOD!!!!!!!!!!! The salad I put it on was romaine lettuce, red onion, tomatoes, goat cheese and sugar glazed walnuts (recipe from this site). YUM!!!!!!!!! I can't wait to make it again! RAVE reviews from everyone (took it to friends for dinner)- even the non salad people. This coule be a meal in itself. Thank you for such a great dressing!!!!!!! This will be 'our' dressing now! I can't imagine anything else being so good.
