This recipe is awesome! It is very much like a crepe, but all the fancy work is not necessary to obtain the lovely flavor these babies have. One note, the butter is much harder to mix in properly if the milk and eggs are cold. My advice is either to let them sit out for 30 minutes before hand or to heat the milk for a few seconds to get the cold out. if it's too cold the butter will coagulate before mixing, and if the butter is too hot it will cook the eggs prematurely. Trial and error has told me that lukewarm is the best for all ingredients and likely his grandma's kitchen was lukewarm ha ha! Excellent Recipe! Keep in mind that these are supposed to be very thin and rolled up with your favorite toppings like strawberry preserves or peanut butter. Yum!

My family calls these pancakes palacinky, the Slovak word. They are one of my favorite foods. I use a touch less butter in the recipe, and substitute a dash of cinnamon for the salt & pepper. They are delicious topped with stewed fruit - strawberries and peaches are wonderful. Also, if you use slightly less sugar, they can be a dinner entree. Fill with sour cream sauce & mushrooms or leeks, or chicken paprikash.

Heavenly. Changes: I added a teaspoon of vanilla extract to the milk. Also, after flipping, I sprinkled about two teaspoons of chocolate chips on to the pancake. When I folded them, the chocolate melted beautifully. A dollop of whipped cream atop, and you've got very happy (and very hyper!) kids.

My grandmother made these for us as kids and they are fabulous! These are NOT your traditional pancake so don't expect them to be the same :) We melt 1/2 slice of velveeta down the middle, then add pork and beans. Then top with an onion mixture (chopped white onion, mustard and sugar...mustard and sugar should be sauce like). Roll it up and eat with a fork. YUMMMMMM! Then for desert we eat the pancake with strawberry jelly and sprinkle powdered sugar on top. I'm 32 and still request grandma makes these when I visit!

when I was much younger my mother would make a stack of these, cut them to thin noodle size and make some beef broth(or what ever you desire) and make us what we called"pancake soup".It was great in the winter after a snowball fight between her seven children and years later became the first thing her grandchildren would ask Gandma to make when they was visiting.

I really liked these pancakes. This is the best recipe i've ever had and i've tried a lot!! Mixture does get a little lumpy so i sifted the flour. These pancakes are nice and thin and have heaps of flavour!! I would definitly make these again and reccomend them to others!! Thanks!!

This is an "ok" recipe, but it really needs something to add a little flavor. My family topped them with applesauce, peanut butter, etc.

This is wonderful, I made a blueberry compote as suggested by one reviewer, rolled the pancake around it, dusted it with icing sugar, and no syrup was needed. Old fashioned, regular pancakes hold no appeal for me now.

We tried these on the spur of the moment instead of the regular pancakes we were planning on having. After they cooked we rolled up bacon, cheese, and scrambled eggs in them, topped with a little more cheddar, and stuck them under the broiler to melt the cheese. We thought they were really yummy-the eggs stuffed in the egg pancakes was a bit of overkill but we were making do with what was on hand. I think this would be excellent filled with traditional omelet fillings like ham, cheese, veggies, ect. Definitely a keeper in our book.

I hate to be so negative, but Eeww! These tasted like very buttery cookies and smelled like greasy movie popcorn. They require a perfectly level griddle, since they're so runny. I like thin pancakes with extra egg, but this wasn't it. I would call them crepes to shape, even better, users' expectations.

This was the worst recipe. It was a complete failure. they were bland and soooo thin they made tortilla thin pancakes. I was very very dissapointed. I followed the recipe exactly. I recommend some modifications to improve it. Sorry. I rarely say anything negative, but i was embarrassed by this and had to come up with a whole new meal with hungry men circling me. Not good.
