The best ever. Title says it all. Will only use this 1 from now on. The dough for this is a little wetter than other's I think, but the cookies come out sooooo good, just make sure to work with chilled small sections of the dough 1 at a time, so it's easier to work with. Also as another reviewer stated parchment paper is great for the bottom of the cookies to come out perfect. I did change 1 thing, in addition to the vanilla extract, I added 1/4tsp of Almond extract. I love the taste of almonds and a little bit goes a long way.

Okay, I'm NOT a good cookie maker - I always end up trying, and when they don't turn out right I toss them in the trash and head to the store to BUY some. Well, this year I forgot to buy Santa's cookies so I just made a half batch of this recipe. My cookies are PERFECT!!!!! I did not change a thing in this recipe. I dipped my cookies in the 'sugar cookie glaze' recipe found on Allrecipes. Santa and Mrs. Claus really love them!

This is a great sugar cookie recipe. Was a little wet and sticky due to the humidity from the rain, but that was easily fixed by adding powdered sugar and a little flour as I rolled out the dough. These cookies do puff up quite a bit so watch the dough thickness when you roll it out.

Fabulous! Followed it exactly and have about 50 cute Christmas cookies. I only chilled for 2 hours in the fridge-it wasn't sticky like other reviews. Using extra powdered sugar to coat the roller and the parchment paper worked good. Love the parchment paper idea-it worked great to use that. Highly recommend!

I found this to be a PERFECT sugar cookie recipe- I just made it with my daughter and the cookies are fantastic. I agree - the colder the dough the better but I floured and floured the surface and the cookies don't taste floury at all. I actually recommend just dusting with colored sugar before baking as the cookies are so great as a stand alone treat, you won't want to ice them and that makes it a quick way to just have a yummy cookie. I used my airbake pans for 7 min and they came out perfectly, I used my heavier metal sheet and 7 min came out with browned bottoms which added a crispier touch to the cookie- so if you want to have something a bit crisper, use the heavier pan.

I think that these were good with alterations. I rolled the dough with wax paper very thin close to 1/4 inch and then put the cookie cutters on the dough. I then froze the dough on wax paper for 30 minutes and they pulled right off! I also added an extra teaspoon of vanilla for my taste.

I added the extra cup of sugar and extra teaspoon of vanilla. Refrigerated overnight and rolled them in a little confectioner's sugar. Baked at 350 for about 9-10 minutes. I thought these cookies were good, and not really a difficult process at all. It is really not that hard to throw ingredients in my stand mixer, refrigerate the dough, and then roll out some cookies! As for taste--they are yummy. Sweet for sure with the extra sugar. Easy recipe that I will make again.

So...to be honest....I really liked the taste and texture when done....but rediculous to get up without smushing them once the cookies are cut. Definately cut on the parchment paper and pull away the excess, as another reviewer suggested......they also REALLY puffed up so make sure you space them WELL apart....and watch how thick you roll them....definately closer to 1/4 inch.

I made the recipe exactly as it was stated and it came out tasting like a cornbread mixture. The dough was too sticky to roll even after refrigerating overnight. I tried adding flour and confectioner's sugar to help with the stickiness but I finally just made drop cookies with the dough.
