My husband hates ketschup on his meatloaf, and as a result I usually shy away from making it. THIS WAS PERFECT!! Followed recipe, but added fresh parsley, sauteed onions and green bell pepper, added a little more steak sauce on top (personal preference) looked great and tasted even better.

It was excellent! I used A1 steak sauce in the meat mix and brushed the top with ketchup. I also sauteed the peppers and onions before adding them into the mix. Everyone loved it! It was served with roasted chunked potatoes, carrots, and peas (I surrounded the meatloaf with the potatoes from the start and added the carrots and peas about 20-30 minutes before the end).

This recipe is great. My boyfriend hates meatloaf, but says this one is okay...which in his language means great. :) I use a little extra Heinz, and of course gravy at the end. I also put half the meatloaf in, put cheese on half for my boyfriend, then the rest of the meat, then cheese on the same half. He now LOVES this recipe since the minor change. I have loved it from the start though. It really doesn't need to have anything added. I was a little cautious about putting green peppers in, but man did they give the meatloaf an excellent flavor. A new favorite for me. Thanks so much!

My whole family enjoyed this recipe, even those that do not normally like meatloaf. I swapped the milk for water, and it was still amazing. I also cut out the salt!

This is probably my favorite meatloaf recipe that I've tried so far. I used Heinz 57 and it was fantastic.

Great recipe! I added a little paprika, oregano & parsely to the whole mixture and it turned out great! Only thing was mine came out abit "wet" like it didn't set properly but I think that has to do with the frozen meat I used. But still, thanks!

This recipe will be a staple in my house from now on. It was super easy - but I mixed ketchup with the remaining steak sauce for the top. It was great! The hubby liked it enough for seconds.

My husband who despised meatloaf loved this recipe and has requested that I make it again! The first time I made it we did not have any green pepper so I substituted chopped mushrooms for the green pepper and it was great. I had to cut back on the mils as it was a little soggy and had to bake it about 30 minutes extra to get it firmed up.

OMG! This was a terrific meatloaf. I used A1 sauce as the steak sauce and my tastebuds came alive. The leftover meatloaf made great sandwickes. Thanks so much for this recipe. I work at a country club and would love the chef to make this as a special for lunch

Just made this last night, and it was fantastic! Tastes just like Mom's, which is what I was hoping for. I followed other reviewers' advice for more meat (2 lbs., worctershire sauce, an additional egg and seasoned bread crumbs). AMAZING. The green peppers and onions were still crunchy which added great flavour and texture. I did splurge a bit...instead of regular ground chuck, I used ground sirloin. It had less than 5% fat, so it didn't turn out all greasy. Will be making this for a long time to come!

My husband loved this recipe... said it was the best thing that I have made yet! As a newlywed, I am testing out different recipes and ideas for the two of us. The only thing that I would change is to add slightly less onions and chop the onion and green pepper very, very tiny.

I should have made less, and removed the water that collected in the dish halfway through cooking. Flavor was ok.

I made this a while ago, it was the first thing I made after I got married and wanted to surprise my husband with dinner, and figured what could be more perfect than meatloaf? Sadly, it turns out that he doesn't like meatloaf (the things you learn, right?), but I thought that it was quite tasty, and both my parents and parents-in-law, ate up all of the leftovers and they all thought it was great! Anyway, the point is that it is easy enough for a VERY novice cook to make, everyone who LIKED meatloaf quite enjoyed it, and it is good the next day as leftovers ESPECIALLY in meatloaf sandwiches.

First let me say that I absolutely hate meatloaf but I loved this one. Unfortunately, my husband hated it because he said it has too many onions and green peppers sticking out in it. I gave the leftovers to my mom and stepdad, and they absolutely loved it. My mom wanted the recipe, as did my step sister, who also tried it. I wish my husband would let me make this again. In my opinion, it is 5 stars, but I had to give it 4 because he didn't like it due to the onions. By the way, I made this with Heinz 57 and found it perfectly spiced.
