Wonderful meatloaf! I used Heinz 57 sauce, 2 T dried minced onion, and frozen chopped green pepper. I wasn't paying attention and used all the sauce in the meatloaf, so I added extra on top the last 10 min of baking. My husband even liked this, green peppers and all, and is soooo glad I didn't use A1 sauce to make this. (which I almost did since it is my favorite) I will use this recipe a lot we enjoyed it so much. The next time I am going to add 1 T of brown sugar too. Thanks for the wonderful recipe.

really love this meatloaf recipe, the heinz 57 and onions and bell pepper gave it a really nice flavor, I used italian seasoned breadcrumbs, cause that's what I had on hand, other then that followed the recipe to the T, will be making this many more times! thanks for sharing!

It was easy and really yummy! Instead of chopping onions and bell peppers, I put them in the blender, with a bit of the milk. And "Steak sauce" was a bit misleading though, it should say ketchup. It went great over turkey gravy.

Tasty and juicy, but I would recommend sauteing the peppers and onions before adding them to the meatloaf - they were a bit too crunchy for my taste.

This recipe is absolutely awesome. Now I made a few changes but this is THE BEST recipe I've found for meatloaf and TRUST ME I've tried a more than I can count. Here are the changes/additions I made. I added 1/2 tsp. of dried sage, 1/2 tsp. of dried parsley, added more egg, used cream instead of milk and used crushed Ritz crackers instead of bread crumbs. Also, instead of brushing the top with the rest of the A-1 steak sauce I combined about 1/3 cup of ketchup with about 3 Tbsp. of brown sugar and waited until it baked for an hour. Then I turned the oven to broil, brushed the top of the meatloaf with my ketchup mixture and broiled (watching carefully to not burn) until carmelized. Repeat process until desired crust is achieved....SOO GOOD! Never had a meatloaf so simple yet so flavorful in my life. My girlfriend doesn't really like ground beef and certainly didn't like meatloaf...but after making this...her thoughts have changed. Thanks for sharing the love

I took the suggestion to use ritz crackers and Al and this worked out fabulously! I have never liked meatloaf, and I actually ate leftovers with this one!

I have 2 children that don't like green peppers, I didn't think they would eat it but they devoured it. The youngest (4 yrs) wants it again tomorrow night...lol. I am adding this recipe to our "favorites" list. Thank you

I made this recipe as stated. The texture was good, very moist. However it tased exactly like steak sauce. I think I'll stick with a meatloaf recipe that has a variety of flavors to combine for something a little more exciting.

This was the first Meatloaf I've ever made and me and my husband were so impressed!! I mixed in more steak sauce, and used cracker crumbs instead of bread crumbs. It was great! Will definitely make again

This was moist, but too sweet. I think I'll use something other than Heinz 57 next time, maybe A1. I'm also going to add some mushrooms. This was just average...definitely not "the best."

So easy to make and tastes good. I didn't give it five stars because I like my meatloaf with a little more tomato sauce. I forgot the milk but it still turned out moist.

My entire family (including my very picky 7 year old) loved this meal! I've made it about 4 times and followed suggestions made by others about using the onion soup mix, and it was great... Oh, I also omitted the green peppers. Other than that, definitely a hit! :-)

EXCELLENT!!! I had a taste for meatloaf but all the meatloaf recipe's I know include tomato past or ketchup. Unfortunately my husband don't like tomato's or anything that comes from them. So the only way he would agree to eat Meatloaf is if I found a way to make it without Tomato products. Thank God for All Recipes and this recipe. My Husband loved it. He ate at least 3-4 servings. I made it with home made garlic mashed potatoes. Delicious!!!

Yum, yum. This was so good that I skipped the potatoe and vegie and had another piece of meatloaf. The only change I made was using Townhouse crackers. I had to drain the meatloaf twice during cooking and then again at the end, so next time I'm going to bake it Alton Brown's way by forming it in a greased pan and then turning it upside down and placing it in a baking pan.
