I have been making this for a few years now. I can not believe that I never rated it. The only thing that I change is I use 1/2 of a bag of frozen veggies in place of the canned. I just don't like the taste of canned veggies. I get request for this soup all the time. I serve it with a fresh crusty bread. Thanks for this hearty recipe.

I liked it, I did add some pasta as a previous reviewer suggested, but it was a little soupy. I wanted it to be a big heartier.

I also added two cans of beef broth and some elbow pasta at the end. I also used frozen mixed veggies instead of canned. It was decently good, although I felt that it could use a bit more spice maybe? I may add some cayenne pepper next time. Overall, a decent soup recipe!

This soup was very good and I found it easy to add my own personal touches. I added frozen mixed vegetables instead of canned and I think next time I will throw in a diced potato. Very good on leftovers.

Very good and simple to make! I used frozen mixed veggies and left the onions in bigger chunks. I added some shredded cheese after I put it into bowls. Served with cornbread and honey butter it's awesome!

I thought this was pretty good. I also used frozen mixed vegetables instead of canned. I think if you had salty soup, reconsider the broth you are using. I ALWAYS use "Better than Buillon" which I find to be significantly less salty than most broths and certainly better than any buillon (which always have lots of salt and MSG).

My family loved it, even four picky children. I used lean stew meat, doubled the beef broth, fresh veggies and roux to thicken up the soup broth. I served it over lightly buttered pasta shells.

Though very tasty, my crew agreed this recipe tasted just like Campbells soup. I ended up wishing I had just opened the can instead of bothering to make a homemade dish for dinner.

This soup was mmm-mmm good! I'm giving it five stars, although I did make quite a few changes. First, I used fresh vegetables -- celery & carrots -- plus a can of corn, drained, and a can of diced tomatoes, undrained. I doubled the amount of beef broth, added 4 tablespoons of garlic, and added Acini di pepe (soup pasta). I made some buttermilk biscuits, and the family loved this meal!

It tasted a bit salty. I have a 6 qt. slow cooker and cooked it on low for 6.5 hours. Next time I will add a cup of water. It was pretty good though.

This is a keeper! Instead of canned veggies, I added fresh carrots (chopped), frozen corn, and frozen peas (I do not care for canned veggies). I also added a bit more beef broth than it called for (used 2 cans). Finally, I cooked some shell noodles and threw them in the last few minutes (the kids like soup with noodles). This turned out delish!!!

My family loved this! Only changes I made was...added potatoes, extra broth, extra V8, and sprinkled it with some "Tastefuly Simple" Fiesta spice (like a taco seasoning). It turned out perfect! I served it over noodles for my 2 and 4 year old and they loved it. It was good with or without the noodles. I will be makeing this again! THANKS!
