The ingredients regarding portion sizes available in stores here are as follows: Turkey - 20 oz. frozen; taco seasoning -- just add a pkg. rounded to an oz.; broth 14 - 20 oz. works fine; can up the broth in place of part of the water. In other words don't let larger purchased quantities go to waste. A little more here or there makes no taste difference.
The arrangement of this recipe should be changed as follows: Chop the vegetables first. Brown the turkey. Add ALL spices and the broth -- bring to a boil and then simmer 4 minutes. Now, in your empty skillet, brown the onions and pepper. Toss into a kettle along with the turkey.
Bring to a simmer. Brown the zuke. Toss into kettle.
Now for added pleasure, as one remarkable woman suggested, add 3 minced garlic simmered just briefly. Add a cup or so of frozen corn. Add a can of black beans (rinsed). Add a tablespoon of brown sugar. Stir.
Now, everything should be in the kettle that has been simmering. Simmer an additional 15 minutes. Now wasn't that easy and well organized?
Smiling right at you, Vaughn
