I've made this recipe 5 times and it's a keeper. I don't have to be perfect on the ingredients. Like beef broth. My sisterinlaw is vegetarian so we substituted vegetable broth & noticed little difference. Still haven't made it with chili pepper flakes but keep meaning to get some at the store! I like that others are throwing other vegetables in along with the zucchini. I haven't tried that but once didn't have zucchini and it was good with just onions and peppers. I've started buying frozen and canned just to keep everything on hand to make this. It's a handy one for a last minute dinner. My husband, who normally won't eat turkey except at Thanksgiving likes it and I convinced the kids to eat it with a little chips and cheese. You don't really need the sour cream or cheese in the basic version. It's good as a basic turkey chili, nice & healthy ...

Fantastic!!! Great for all that squash you can't give away! I used chunks of cooked white turkey breast instead of ground and it was great...a keeper for sure.

I made two small changes - less zuchini (because I'm the only one in my family that would eat that part) and instead of the green chilis I chopped up a medium sized canned chipotle and added that with about a tablespoon of the canned adobe sauce. My son, who is a chili con carne traditionalist, said this was the best chili he'd ever tasted. My husband said it was even better on the second day.

My family loves this recipe. I add a can of ranch style beans to it as well because I love the flavor. It's easy and reasonably healthy.

Excellent recipe - lots of flavor. Like others, I added two cans of drained beans, some frozen corn, and a bit of brown sugar. It was actually a lot of fun to make because my husband doesn't like things spicy, so we each made 1/2 the recipe in our own pot and he could decide what he wanted to add or not! We each liked our version the best (mine was truer to the recipe) and he learned to appreciate the chili more having "created" it.

It was so delicious! I had cut down the spicy ingredients (based on other peoples' reviews saying it was really spicy), and added chick peas and kidney beans like a lot of the other users. It was a huge hit with my dinner party, and they even took home leftovers! Thank you for this awesome recipe!

We loved this recipe. I took the advice of others and added black beans, chili beans, and red beans. I also added an extra can of green chiles and an extra can of tomatoes. The meat had great flavor but the liquid seemed to lack a little flavor so I added cumin, nutmeg, chili powder, cayenne, and dried cilantro. I through it all in a slow cooker and let the flavors cook through for a few hours. My boyfriend said it was the best chili we've ever made!

I loved this recipe! It was the first time I made chili and it came out great! I added some diced adouille to it b/c I like heat, and used chicken broth rather then beef broth. I also left out the zucchini but added a can of drained cannolini beans...delicious!!

I added two cans of light kidney beans and used ground turkey breast. I liked it a lot! I wasn't expecting it to be as spicy as it is, but that was from my choice of salsa and chili flakes. However, I did like that it was a little different than traditional chilis and very healthy. (I used less oil as well). Thanks!

Fantastic recipe!! I added some dark red kidney beans to give it some more texture, this has to be the best chili recipe I've found, my husband loves it, even my daughter ate it! I've given out this recipe to 3 friends also, I'll be using this regularly!

This chili is fantastic! I just ate a bowl of leftovers for lunch. I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 b/c I changed up the recipe a bit. You can change up some ingredients to your liking. I left out the zuccini and added 1 can of kidney beans + 1 can of corn, both drained. I also left out the tomato paste b/c I didn't have any but if you simmer the chili long enough, it will reduce to your desired consistency. I also had leftover chiopotles in adobo sauce and added two of those. SO GOOD!

This was really delicious. I too added a can of garbanzo beans, a can of black beans and a small can of corn. I used red pepper instead of green. A dash of brown sugar too. It was just the right consistency. Very hearty and healthy and no way can you tell that it is made with turkey! The melted cheese on top was great!!
