This is a very easy recipe... it has become the ole standby in my house. I try to always have the ingredients available so if nothing else is appealing, this always is!

Being a purebread Norwegian from MN - I have been eating this "hot dish" since I was littlle! I love it! And so does my family. I always add a can of corn and black olives and sometimes a can of mushrooms. I add the cheese on top at the end and broil it until it the cheese bubbles.

I put a vegetarian twist on this recipe and used Morning Star crumbles instead of hamburger. And I used 1 can of cream of celery and 1 can of cream of brocolli mixed. TASTY!

I made this the other night for my husband and soon to be 5 yr old boy, and it was wonderful. I did add about 1 teaspoon and some worchestershire sauce to the ground beef as it was cooking, and when mixing the soup and milk, I added 1/2 cup sour cream and used cheddar and montery jack shredded cheeses, and baked until the tiny tator tots were crispy. It turned out sooo good, everyone enjoyed it, my son and husband like it with ketchup on top (as typical with men)!!! Will make this again. Thanks!!

Love it. Added Garlic and worchester sauce and put more Tots on top to get crunchy. Added 5 minutes @ 450 to crisp tots. Tastes like Cheeseburger and fries casserole. kids loved it.

I thought this was a very simple meal to prepare and the taste was good although a little heavy for the summer months...I'll make it again during the winter months.

I too placed the tater tots on top so they'd be nice and crispy. I also used cream of chicken soup and added about 1/2 cup of sour cream to the soup mixture. I also added some garlic and worcestershire sauce to the beef to give it more flavor. We ate it with ketchup; my kids said it tasted like cheeseburger and fries casserole. Not gourmet, but a good weeknight family supper when served with a green salad.

It was awesome. My duaghter enjoying making it and the kids loved it - including the 52 yo kid (dad)! Followed the previous advice of putting soup and cheese below the tots for a crispy top!

I really liked this one. I added worcestershire and minced garlic to the meat and added a small can of sliced mushrooms to the soup. Like others, I put meat on the bottom, followed by the soup, cheese and tater tots on top. They turned out nice and crispy. Served with green beans and biscuits.

Ive been making this for years and it always is a hit. Our modifications are to layer the beef mixture on the bottom, add a layer of canned green beans, drained, then the cheese and topped with the tatortots. It takes about 45 min in the oven and is done when the tator tots are browned and the mixture is bubbly. It helps the tator tots be more crisp and the cheese mixes good with the meat mixture. (I had to sneak in a veggie for my picky eaters.)

I'm not sure what I thought I was getting, but this recipe didn't live up to all the rave reviews. Though it wasn't bad, it actually looked and tasted like something one of my children would make on thier first try to make dinner for the family. Nothing special, just okay.

Husband loved it, however it was a bit much for me. He's a definite meat and potato guy, and I'm more of a pasta and chicken girl.
