I've been making this dish for a couple of years now and find it to be simple, tasty, and satisfying. I took the suggestion of others and mixed the soup/milk in with the meat, added a layer of mixed frozen vegetables, and topped with tater tots and cheese. Very much like a poor man's shepherd's pie.

This was good. My family really liked it although I thought it was a little salty. I could easily pass this up but I would make it again for them.

I've made a few times, always turns out great. I use the whole bag of tater tots, I mix half the tots into the soup mixture then pour them on top of the beef, then sprinkle the on rest of the tots. This way you have both gooey and crispy tater tots. I've also found that it works out better to add the cheese on top in the last ten minutes, so it doesn't burn.

My kids kids this. I wouldn't consider this terribly appetizing but it's worth 4 stars just because they didn't fight with me! (I used alphabet shaped tater tots)

DELICIOUS! So super easy. I did as suggested by others and mixed the soup/mix combo into the meat mixture instead of pouring it over top. Makes a HUGE difference. This is definitely something that will become a staple in our monthly menu.

We love this recipe! I don't used canned creamed soups, so I just make my own white sauce with a couple tbsp. of butter and flour, and 1 cup of milk (or 1/2 c. milk + 1/2 c. chicken broth). The husband loves this one!

My mom made this all the time when I was a kid, so I was glad to find it on here so I could share it with my boyfriend. As we try to eat healthy I used ground white meat turkey, used cream of chicken soup since he doesn't like mushroom, and spiced it up with some crushed red peppers, black pepper and garlic. It was alright, I might play with it a while since it was so FAST--by the time the oven was preheated, I literally had the meat cooked and everything ready to go in the oven, love that!
