I added a can of corn, extra can of the mushroom soup, and used 1/2lb of ground beef, and 1/2 pound italian sausage. Was very good. Freezes well too.

This is a pretty good dish. It is very rich, and makes quite a large portion.

Kids didn't care for this one. Hubbie did though! Lots of meat, not much sauce. Needs grean beans or something else. Pretty plain.

The kids ate it, which is an accomplishment in itself, but I thought it could have used more flavor. If I make it again I'll add more spices.

This is one of my family's favorite recipes. I do layer it a bit different, as we like the potaotes crispy. I pour the soup mixture over the ground beef, then add half the cheese, top with the potatoes, then sprinkle with a bit more cheeese, resulting in a crispier topping. Good comfort food.

My family loved this! I had read other reviews about seasoning the beef, so I also used a little garlic powder, worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper. VERY easy to make and reminded me of a shepards pie. I served with a veggie and some salad.. it was a great dinner!

This was really good and my kids loved it (teenagers). Not too healthy which is why I gave it only 4 stars, but sometimes I have got to give in to their typical American tastes! Real easy to make. I ran the ground beef under hot water to eliminate the excess fat which doesn't affect the taste, and I used low sodium soup and lowfat cheddar. Will make again. Thanks

This recipe will surprise you... It's easy to make and it tastes great. I make this with all the same ingrediants but I have the tater tots on top of the cheese. Either way, everyone will like this!

I gave this four stars because I think overall that's as good as tater tot casserole can be. I've tried many recipes over the years, but this one was the best so far. My kids enjoyed it and that's the true test. Very picky eaters. I made it exactly as written except I substituted french fries for the tater tots just because that's what I had on hand. Thanks for a great recipe. I'll make this again.

Until today, Tater Tot Casserole was NOT EVER considered an option, in my house! The first time I tasted my sister-in-law served the casserole, the potatoes were still limp and partially frozen! I still have reservations, but it tasted better. I'll try it again, to trry to acquire the taste.

I love this recipe. I first tried this dish in my college cafeteria. I have made it twice for my family and it almost always has no leftovers. I have an impulse to eat this whenever it is served in the cafeteria.

I thought this was yummy but I must add that I did use the recippe as a guide only. I used a tube of orig. Jimmy Dean sausage instead of hamburger and then topped it off with french fried onion rings (like for greenbean casserole). Then I put the mushroom sauce and then the tatertots. I topped it off with cheese the last 5 minutes of cooking and it was great! It wasn't dry and it wasn't bland at all. I'll definitely try this recipe again. It seems the variations are endless.
