Suprisingly I have had great success in using 100% whole wheat flour when making this recipe. I just use a little less than specified, 1T. yeast 2-3 T gluten powder and about 1/4 cup oil. It comes out light and fluffy. We love it.

Unbelievably simple! This was my 1st stab at bread making and I thoroughly enjoyed it; I had no idea it would be so easy. I've now made 8 loaves; varying each of my successive batches. I added 1/4 c of olive oil, 2 full bulbs of roasted garlic to one batch (yummmm) and brushed the top lightly with olive oil to keep the loaves from drying. The next batch I passed on the 2nd rising (I just let it rise once for about 90 minutes) & mixed in 3/4 c mixed brown & white sugar with 2t of cinnamon and a cup of raisins. After the rising I applied melted butter to the top of the loaves and sprinkled a mix of 1/4 c of mixed brown/white sugar. I'm making olive bread next!

This bread is just like my grandmother used to make. It's the first time I have ever baked bread and this was an easy recipe with a fantastic outcome.

First time making bread with my stand mixer. Turned out perfect with such a nice crust, texture and taste. Made one white loaf and one cinnamon loaf. YUMMY No need to look any further for a good bread recipe.

Very dense...but quite good! I used this as the bread to make a pepperoni loaf. Worked great for that!

Love this. Great recipe to play with. Tonight I tried the cinnamon swirl with it and it turned out perfect. I have also substituted a couple of cups of white flour for wheat flour and it tastes awsome. Especially when I topped it with sesame seeds. Thank you for this. LOVE IT!
