These are quick and very easy, but a bit too sweet for me. I would say that's bc I dipped the bread in the butter, then dipped in the sugar and spice mixture, but the last few didn't get very coated (was running out of the sugar and spice mix) and those are still too sweet for me. To be fair, I'm not a sweets person so many people may not agree with me. I like toast crispier, so I turned over the slices and baked five minutes longer. Thanks for the recipe.

I'll give these a 4-star rating, mainly for the taste and the ease of preparation. I gave most of the first batch to The Woman I Love, who said she'd give them a "strong 4" rating, and would've given them a 5 if they weren't so buttery. I also think there's too much butter for the recipe - maybe the 1/4 cup should be reduced by a quarter, to 3 Tbsp. On top of that, I think there is way too much cinnamon/sugar/nutmeg for just 12 slices of toast. Even if you sprinkle on both sides, it's too much. I'd suggest cutting the spices in half, unless you want *coated* toast slices. One preparation note. I learned to be careful with dipping the slices in the melted butter. Bread being what it is, if you dip a second too long, the bread becomes a soggy mess. I'd suggest brushing the butter onto the slices instead - it will hardly take any more time to do so. That being said, these are, in the end, tasty and easy to make.
