Have been making it this way for years and years. Must be mayo and not salad dressing. Every once in awhile I throw in a dill pickle for tang. Can use sweet pickle if you don't have any relish in the frigerator.

This is definitely good, but try adding a T. full of dill pickle juice and dill relish instead of the sweet relish. I saw this on a cooking show and have been making it like this for years. Super

I found this very good, I added 1 tbl. Chopped Capers, leftout the salt, & changed the Sweet to Dill - Pickle Relish.

Really very good, except I used dill relish instead of the sweet relish. I did not have the sweet available.

Great East Tartar Sauce, I added a little more relish and onion (I grated the onion) and a 1/2 teaspoon of dried dill. Other than that followed the rest and it was great.

Too much mayo for the amount of other ingredients. I had to add double the amount of the pickles and onion in order to get this to have any flavor. Lemon juice is a must, not an option.

I loved this recipes. If I had realized before that making tartar sauce was this easy and delicious I would've been making it forever. I used chopped dill pickles instead of relish because I didn't have any and maybe just a splash of lemon juice because I didn't want it too runny. It was great and I will never buy store bought tartar sauce again.

I only used 1 T. of lemon juice, and used dill relish instead of sweet. Chilled for a couple of hours, and it turned out great! A nice simple recipe.

Sorry but this didn't do it for me. It tasted too much like Miracle whip which I find awful. If you like a creamier, more mellow tasting tartar sauce, go elsewhere.

Terrific stuff! I am addicted to tartar sauce and this cannot be beat. I also use onion powder blends better, and less work. Oh such good stuff, thanks for the recipe.

This was just ok (fresh). It tasted a little like glorified mayo to me. Given, I'm not a big fan of mayo and I really made this for my husband. I did make some changes. I used about half the mayo, a little bit more of the relish, added a few dashes of garlic powder, skipped on the lemon (I was out), and added a few dashes of celery seed. I tried it while it was fresh, we'll see how it tastes tonight for dinner.

Just what I needed, and tastes wonderful! I used dill relish, mmmmm. Cut the recipe in 1/4 for about 2 servings' worth of fish.

I do not like tartar sauce, but I made it for my boyfriend along with salmon cakes and he loved it so I gave it a try. Oh my god! This tartar sauce is excellent, I paired it up with hot sauce on my salmon cake and it was soooo delicious! This is a keeper!
