This is delicious! I also added red grapes, as advised by other members, and it does give it that special taste. This is perfect if done in advance. Make it into a delicious wheat bread sandwich. You'll love it!

Scaled down ingredients to match with one 12.5 can chicken. Added diced onions and dried cranberries. Also didn't use sour cream, just light mayo. Pretty basic recipe, but really good!!

Husband who hardly touches chicken salad (calls it "Chick Food) Loved this. I decreased chicken to 31/2 cups, omitted the celery, then added 1/2 cup chopped pecans, 1/2 cup green onion, cup of red seedless grapes one chopped green apple (peeled) Also added ground pepper and salt to taste. Extra ingredients give the mixture more of a crunch

I modified this recipe and added 3/4 cup of quartered seedless red grapes, 1/2 cup of dry cranberries, 2 tablespoons of dry tarragon (since I didn't have fresh tarragon), and 2 teaspoons of sugar. I also cut down the chicken to 4 cups but I finely chopped it. This recipe tastes better than the one at Starbucks!

I have been really enjoying the Tarragon Chicken Sandwiches lately at Sbux- decided I should make it for myself and found this recipe! I only had one cooked chicken breast, so I just eyeballed the rest of it. Instead of sour cream, I used plain greek yogurt, only put in a small amt of very finely chopped celery- eyeballed about 1Tbs of dried Tarragon and added a small handful of dried cranberries. I did taste it and felt it was lacking.... something. So I added just a teeny pinch of sugar to sweeten it and it was perfect! :) Thanks for helping me satisfy my craving at home! :)

Awesome chicken salad! It was the perfect way to use up leftover herb grilled chicken. I cut the recipe in half and chopped the chicken and the celery fine. I mixed reduced fat sour cream, Hellman's light mayo, along with a tsp. of dried tarragon (didn't have fresh on hand) a bit of salt, pepper, and a Tbsp. of chopped fresh chives. I folded the "dressing" into the chicken and celery and let it set in the fridge for about and hour. I love when a few simple ingredients come together to form something so good! The mix of sour cream and mayo really gave this a nice creamy texture and flavor. I served this on a lettuce leaf with wheat crackers - YUM!

This recipe is great. Hint-I like a good taste of the tarragon. If you use fresh tarragon you have use more to get a stronger taste. With dry tarragon (this is stronger) a Tbs will give you that hit taste you are looking for. If you let the chicken salad sit in the fridge for about an hour the tarragon taste will come out more like when you marinate foods.

This was quite good. I had cooked chicken in the freezer and fresh tarragon in the garden so I gave this a whirl. I didn't use the sour cream, just mayonnaise and added it until I got the consistency I wanted. I would make this again, but I might bump up the tarragon - I didn't think its flavor was very prevalent in this, but then again, maybe it's my tarragon.

Chicken salad just the way we like it, basic and simple, with not a bunch of other "stuff" added to it. The tarragon was perfect with the chicken for a hint of fresh, herby flavor and I appreciate that the mayonnaise was cut with sour cream. Other than adding salt and pepper and just mixing the ingredients to my liking without measuring, I didn't feel the need to alter this a bit.
