I just used the recipe for the marinade, and made steak quesadillas with it. Decent, maybe a little too much vinegar for my taste.

This was very good. My fiance raved about it. I grilled and used round eye steaks. I followed exactly, however, I only used the marinade. :)

I followed this recipe's marinade and onion relish and combined with the Oaxacan tacos from this website and they were delicious. For the marinade, we reduced vinegar to 1/4 cup, soy sauce to 1/3 cup, and olive oil to 1/3 cup. We omitted the salsa in this recipe and used grated queso fresco. We added about 1 chopped jalapeno to the onion relish. Bought a 1.33 lb. flank steak and cooked about 3m/side on the grill and it was perfect and served 4 people easily with leftovers.

EXCELLENT carne asada!!! We usually drive a ways to our favorite Mexican market to buy their carne asada called "marinaded flap meat". I decided to see if I can make it myself so we can have it more often and not have to drive so far. I found this recipe and it is even BETTER than the Mex market's. I just used the marinade and did not make the salsa because the meat has enough flavor. The only difference is that I used flap meat and added the chopped cilantro to the marinade since that is what the Mex Market does. We make it into burritos by cooking sliced onions, bell peppers, and tomatoes in olive oil, then adding it to the meat. Oh, I forgot to say that the meat MUST be barbecued to get the full flavor. Then slice before adding to the burritos.

Made this over the weekend for a party of 30+ people, and it was a hit! If you are using pre-diced carne from the Mexican market, be sure to reduce both the soy sauce & salt by half to prevent over-marination, and only marinade for 30 minutes to an hour. Thanks for the recipe!

This was great and super easy. Next time I will grill it, then chop it up. Pan frying was good, but I like my carne asada grilled. Kids loved it!

I have made theses taco’s many times and will continue to make them. I lived in the San Diego area for five years. These taco’s remind me of the taco’s I use to get at little mom and pop restaurant in Imperial Beach. My wife loves the New Mexico chili pepper sauce. After the taco’s are all gone she will eat the sauce with chips. I always cook my steak over a good hot charcoal fire.

Marinade for the meat is sublime. The sauce is too hot, so made it a second time without the jalapeno peppers. This is a recipe I'll make for the rest of my life!

The marinade was delish! Didn't change a thing and it was perfect. For the salsa I had to add lime juice, salt, and cilantro then we liked it. Next time I don't think I will bother with the topping we thought the meat was so well seasoned it didn't need anything else.

I only made the meat and not the relish. The meat recipe was excellent and I will use it over and over again. I don't know if it was "authentic" or not, but it didn't matter...it was GREAT!I had never used flap meat before and it was fantastic. The only slight modifications that I made were that I used white balsamic vinegar, reduced sodium soy sauce and I grilled the meat whole (just a few minutes on each side) and then I sliced it. Everyone loved it. The taste was incredible! I would recommend NOT substituting the corn toritallas for flour. Even my family, who have only ever had flour tortillas, loved the corn tortillas for this recipe.
