I tend to change recipes because i'm picky. Since i don't like orange on ham, this is what i did and it tasted great: Didn't use the orange juice or the orange zest. Boiled ham and then baked it with the glaze the last hour of cooking.

I've used this recipe a few times and everytime I get rave reviews! I noticed some reviews said it didn't change the taste of the ham and I'll agree, if you only rely on what you baste the ham with during cooking, it does not soak in enough. I usually serve it in a gravy boat and have guests pour it over the ham. It's so good, we want to lick the plate! It's even better the next day when you soak the leftovers in the glaze!

This made a great ham. The whole family, even the ones that don't care for ham, loved it.

I put in sweet potatoes like someone else suggested, and they simply wouldn't bake and then later when they finally softended I hated the flavor. But I did vote only based on the recipe itself. I thought it was okay but it wasn't anything special. My dad, who usually loves pretty much anything (and whom I was hoping would love the glaze) wasn't a big fan, either. That said, the ham was very tender and delicious and maybe someone who likes sweet and tangy things more would enjoy it. I'm not sure if I'll make this again... If I do, I will make a lot less and only enough to glaze the ham with, instead of having so much leftover.

Made this for Christmas dinner, everyone loved it. Better than the premade glaze that the ham comes with. Nice and thick too.

This was ok. The glaze burned on the bottom of my roasting pan and gave the meat a bit of a burnt flavor. Not sure if id make this one again. Perhaps if mine didn't burn it would have been better.

Glaze was very good. I also cut up some sweet potatos and put them in the roaster with the ham and glazed them along with the ham. Made the sweet potatos super yummy.

I used this on a boneless tavern ham. The only addition I made was to put pineapple slices on the ham right before putting on the glaze. This was the best ham I've ever made and all my guests for New Year's dinner agreed.

This was the first time I made a ham that didn't already come with the glaze and it was a HIT! The ONLY thing I changed was that I cooked the ham in one of those Reynolds bags. Then, when it came time to add the glaze, I got rid of the bag completely and continued with the directions listed. It made for a WONDERFUL tasting ham that was so moist and juicy. I will be making this my official Christmas ham recipe from now on!

very good! I noticed the ham starting to dry out approx 1 hour into baking so I coverered it with aluminum foil. When it was time to glaze I uncovered the ham.

I did not find this glaze to be worth the effort it caused me. I wanted to "dress up" my holiday ham, although I really like the flavor of plain ham. The glaze was simple to prepare but did not add significant flavor to the ham. It just gave a mildly tasty crust, but it mostly got cut with the fat that is also on the outside of the ham. Applying the glaze increased my cooking time enough that my dinner timing was thrown way off. If you do choose to use this glaze (or any other) please do yourself a favor and add at least 30 min. to your cooking time to account for the oven cooling significantly from frequent opening and closing while you glaze.

This was really good- my first time making ham and it was a great success! I didn't have pineapple juice or cloves (strangely) so I just omitted them. I used 1/2 orange and cut the brown sugar back to 1 cup. So good and flavorful; I'm looking forward to the leftovers.
