I absolutely loved these, but I tried them a few different ways and preferred sealing them a different way. Instead of grabbing all corners and twisting them, I spread the filling out across the rectangle of dough and rolled it up length wise then pinched the ends to seal. Perfect!

Very easy to make, my twists didn't really stay twisted and made a bit of a mess on the baking sheet.

I made these tonight with a bit of a twist. I added a bit of cayenne pepper and didn't have the whole 8 oz of salsa but added what I did have. I also wasn't real sure how to do the crescent roll part so I made up my own version. I unrolled them, took the two still together and closed the perferation instead of separting them forming a rectangle. I then cut them into two squares and sifted a bit of yellow cornmeal on each side and pressed them into greased muffin tins then added the meat mixture. I made Taco Muffins instead of the twists baked them at 375 for about 15 min until they were done. My version makes eight muffins but they are very filling!! Turned out awesome!! Definitely a recipe that will be repeated. I also would like to try using taco meat next time as well!!

These were impossible to get to "twist". I got aggravated with them and just rolled them up jelly roll style and cut them in 1" pieces. I made these for superbowl and everyone seemed to like them. I don't think I would make them again though. Sorry.. Thanks for the recipe...

I've made this one of two ways. With the crescent rolls as the recipe stands, with my own additions and with refrigerated biscuits. It streamlines the prep a bit and all you really have to do is flatten out the biscuits a bit and press them into a muffin tin, then scoop the taco meat into the biscuit. Really simple and uses up most pantry items most people always have. Kids especially love this. NOTE: I recommend using a bit of Bill Echols taco seasoning in this. This is also good with ground chicken/turkey.

YUM. I'm a sucker for anything involving meat and dough, haha. This recipe is a really easy idea that I'm surprised I never thought of. You can add plenty of stuff to the meat mixture too. I omitted the chilies and hot pepper sauce, but added diced red pepper and black olives. The instructions were a little confusing when it came to making rectangles out of the crescent roll dough. The dough will usually come in triangle shapes right out the container. So you'll need to put at least 2 triangles together to make the rectangle. I made a variation of sized "twists"-- for some I used 4 triangles put together and for some I used just 2. These were even tasty cold, straight out of the fridge the next day!

These were tasty! Don't add too much meat mixture, though!

Made these a few weeks ago for guests. Yummy! Meat mixture is fabulous and could be adapted for other recipes. Please note that these do not fully close when "twisted."
