This is great. My son is still talking about how this was the best taco meat he has ever had. I won't be buying the store packets any longer.

I LOVE this recipe. It is so nice to be able to control the sodium by making my own seasoning. My kids loved it and I did not have to go to the store.

This makes some GOOOOOOD taco meat!!!! My mom who HATES the store bought "" loves when I make taco salad using this recipe. I cut the salt by 3/4, still tasted good, because my whole family watches our sodium intake. Way better than packaged mix, easy to make, very flavorful and aromatic while it's cooking - definitely!

Good seasoning mix. Used 1/2 teaspoon of kosher salt and added a couple dashes cayenne pepper.

This is awesome!!! I quadruple the recipe and keep in a baggie in the cupboard. Then it is always ready to go for taco night! I have used it as a marinade/rub on steak as well. Was excellent that way too!

We make a large jar of this and keep it on hand at all times. We did decrease the salt. We like to experiment with it, last time we used ground ancho chilis for the red pepper flake and once we used ground chipotle pepper for it. Good recipe. Way better than the stuff in the packet!

Perfect. I can see why this recipe has over 1,000 ratings! I've been trying to cook healthier and so don't want to use pre-made taco seasoning anymore as the salt content is crazy. This one fits the bill and tastes great. My husband and I are vegetarian and this blends really well with texturized vegetable protein (also called soy crumbles or veggie ground round. This is the vegetarian equivalent of beef ground round). As the TVP is dehydrated, you add water or vegetable stock to rehydrate it (I used water this time as I was making a taco bake). That added just enough moisture to help the seasonings stick to everything. Turned out very tasty and even the hubby, who tends to eat lots of salty things, enjoyed it as well. I didn't find it that spicy but omitted the red pepper flakes because we didn't have any. Thanks for much for posting this!!

This was great! I used it on ground turkey to make turkey tacos! Even my picky eaters loved it!! It was a little spicy this time, so I think next time I will have to cut back on that a bit...but there will definitely be a next time!!!! Thanks!!!

My only problem is...what am I going to do with the big container of store bought taco seasoning?! This is great stuff! Much more flavor-ful then the packaged seasoning. Its nice too because you can add and take away to your liking. Like garlic...add more. Not a red pepper fan?...add less. Thanks, this recipe is great!

If I could give this 10 stars, I would! Everyone at the party kept commenting on the flavor of the meat. It gives it a different taste than the store bought seasonings. I did cut the crushed red pepper in half. I browned my meat, drained the fat, then dusted the seasoning over the meat and added 2/3 c water per lb of meat. I did use about 3 T per lb of meat. Excellent!!!! You'll never buy store bought again.

Very good, flavorful, with a good amount of spiciness. I browned my ground beef with diced onion, green bell pepper and minced garlic (I omitted the onion powder from the recipe); added a generous amount of this seasoning with about 1/3 cup water and let it simmer down. Worked great, much better than the seasoning packet I usually use, I'm glad I ran out! I will be using this from now on.

Based on smell and the fact that I had everything w/o having to buy anything, 4 stars just on that. Am making nachos later tonight, will review again after we've had some nachos. I'm also thinking of using some of this in my Spanish rice dish.

Easy and convenient. I make a lot all at once and then keep it in an old spice jar, so I have it when I need it.

Great flavor and easy... I had everything in my kitchen. No more store-bought packets! I used this recipe as-is, and a little less than a pound of beef, with 1/2 cup water.
