I added this to 8 oz. of tomato sauce and used as a substitute for taco sauce. Have you looked at the ingredients in packaged taco seasoning? Almost every brand has msg in it. Not for my family. This recipe is an awesome substitute.

Didn't like this at all. I usually use Old El Paso seasoning, and this was hotter and not as flavorful.

I never buy packaged seasoning (very high in sodium) any more, I only use this recipe. I cut back the salt by about half.

This recipe is the best! I was making tacos and went to get taco seasoning out of the cupboard when I discovered I was out of it. I used this recipe instead and it tasted as good if not better than the packaged seasoning. I don't think I will be buying the packaged seasoning any more.

This is an awesome mix! I used it for pork burritoes, too--bought a pork loin, put the mix on the meat as a rub, and cooked it in the crockpot. Will never go back to store-bought. Thanks, Bill!

Fantastic recipe! Never again will I buy packaged taco seasoning. The fresh seasonings shout out aroma and flavor, tremendous color, without all the salt. Thanks, Bill Echols.

This was great. Will definitely make this instead of buying the packets in the future. It brought my (sigh) ground turkey, to a higher level for our tacos. Thanks.

I may have bought my last packet of taco seasoning......this is excellent. Very easy and uses common spices that most people probably have in the pantry. Very good flavor- better, I'd say, than store-bought- and a little spicier too, which was great for us. I made extra so it's handy next time I need some...

I will never buy taco seasoning from the store again! I just made a bowl of it and keep it in the pantry... Sprinkle some in the meat to your liking... VERY GOOD!

This was really good. So much better than the pre-packaged stuff which always tasted sort of "fake" to us. You can actually taste the meat using this recipe. I cooked one pound of beef and added one can of black beans and used the whole recipe of seasoning. I added 2/3c. cold water with a teaspoon of cornstarch mixed in.

For everyone with Celiac that can't eat "modified food starch" this is a wonderful alternative! In fact it is so tasty and cheap that it beats packaged taco seasoning any day. I only made one change after making it a few times - I doubled the amount of cumin. I also make this in large quantities and just store it in a zip-lock bag so that I don't have to mix it up every time I need it.

I doubled the garlic and onion powders and divided the crushed red pepper in half only because of personal taste. I mixed this to a pound of brown 97% fat free ground beef and first made it into tacos, which were delicious, then later re-made the ground beef and put it into a mexican chip dip which was also delectable. Very good and would recommend to others.
