This is so good and such a no-brainer that I feel like an idiot for having ever bought the packaged stuff. This is classic taco seasoning made with what is already on-hand. I'll never buy another pouch of taco seasoning. Tip: One recipe makes about the amount you would need for one pound of ground beef if making tacos.

Used this seasoning in the Slow cooker Chicken Taco Soup recipe from this site, and I must say it was seasoned perfectly. As others have stated, I will never buy the packets again!! Thanks Bill

Sooo yummy! I didn't have sea salt. I used table salt, and only 3/4 tsp. Next time I will make it exactly as is. I am never buying the packaged stuff again!

Made as directed, used all of it on 2 lbs ground beef with a little water added to help incoorporate it. We thought it was great, and no need to buy anymore store bought packets of salty flavoring!

Easy and Excellent!!! Easily add or subtract season to taste! I did not use garlic or onion powder bc I prefer fresh onion and garlic sauteed in my taco meat. All of my kids loved it!

Great recipe, did it almost exactly, but I took the first reviews advice of adding the flower and water. Not to spicy if you use the said amount of red pepper flakes. Also I had no onion powder so I cut up a portion of an onion and sauteed it with the hamburger meat to begin.

This was very good, but tasted like it was missing something. The spice was a bit hot. It's nice to have this on hand for the last minute dinners when you don't have the taco seasoning on hand. Most ingredients are in a cooks spice rack, and the recipe is easy to put together and make extra to keep on hand.

Mr. Echols, wish I could give you 6 stars. This was awesome. Glad I made a lot of it. I put it into two jars and will give one to my DD who cannot have any of the "bad" stuff in those mixes that I can't stand either. This is AWESOME. Thanks sooo much for sharing with us. Bev

I threw chicken breasts in the slow cooker coated with your TS1 and used the meat for enchiladas. Instead of using crushed red pepper, I used ground ancho chili seasoning and it was excellent. Kudos for posting a great recipe.

I use this for so much more than taco seasoning... I love it. In addition, you can adjust to your taste and you know the quality of ingredients going into it. Fantastic!!

My family loves this spice mixture. The first time I mixed it I upped it to 40 servings. It lasted one day since my kids had to take some home with them after tasting it in chili. I made a quart jar of it the next day. It's perfect.

This worked out very well. 2.25 lbs of meat used up all 10 servings. I reduced the cumin by 1/3rd, added 1/4 tsp. cocoa powder, and when I made my tacos, added 1 tsp. beef soup base. It was great, and perfectly salted :) Thanks, I'll continue to use this!

This seasoning tastes like a less salty version of the pre-made packages you buy in the store. Which after making this, I will never buy again.

This recipe may save your -- and your family's -- brains. Make a bunch of it! Store-bought taco seasoning typically has more than one excitotoxin within to add 'taste' when it's added to ground beef. Excitotoxins like MSG, disodium inosinate (and several others) burn out neurons by exciting them overmuch. They over-fire, then they die . . . leaving holes where they used to be. Tons of this garbage is worked into processed food to give it taste -- even baby food. Google 'excitotoxins', do some research, and protect your family by using recipes like this one instead of buying something off the shelf.
