4 1/2 Stars. This is a good base recipe. I revamped it a bit the 2nd time I made this. I used macaroni instead of shells, sharp cheddar cheese, the recipe for Taco Seasoning I instead of packaged, and added a small can of corn and 2/3 of a can of black beans. It was excellent.

This was really good. I did add a can of Rotel tomatoes as some others suggested and omitted the water and green chiles. It was quick to make, and had a lot of flavor. Thanks for the quick tasty recipe!

My husbband absolutely loved this! I've made it a few times already for him. The first time i made it, i realized we didnt have any tomato sauce in the cupboard, so as a substitute i used pizza sauce. (the small cans) It came out great, and the sauce added an extra zing!

very good. Smelled just like tacos! Instead of using a packet of taco seasoning (which i didnt have) I mixed up some. We didn't have any leftovers, which tells me I should have made a bigger helping. ALso everyone put sour cream on top of theirs. defiantly saving for future use!

This was very good, Everybody loved it and my sister, who doesn't like anything even asked for the recipe. The only changes I made were, I added a chopped red bell pepper, use 1.5 cans of thick and zesty tomato sauce and crunched up some tostitos on top when I baked it. It was a little dry for my tastes, so next time I will double the tomato sauce. But I will definately make this on a regular basis. UPDATE: I make this all the time now, I have fixed the dryness - 1 can tomato sauce, 1 can of diced tomatoes.

I just made this for dinner and it was delicious! I added a few things: 1 fresh jalapeno, 1/4 cup diced yellow pepper, and a little fresh garlic.

My boyfriend and I LOVED this! I did change a few things. I used ground turkey instead of beef. An 8 oz. can of tomato sauce instead, whole wheat pasta, 1 can of Rotel, sliced blk olives and a can of Mexicorn. When I baked it, I put in for 15 min and then took it out and topped it with crushed tortilla chips, the blk olives and shredded cheddar! Will def make again!!!

This meal was a hit. I had to use what was in the pantry. I used a can of rotel tomatos instead of the tomato sauce and chilies and used medium egg noodles instead of macaroni. It turned out really well.

I made this last night, with a couple of healthier changes, and it was great!! I definitely added more seasoning (salt, pepper, garlic) and I threw in bell pepper with the onion when I browned the meat. I used low fat cheese and topped it with low fat sour cream. I also added black olives and jalapenos to the top before baking it. Oh, and I used whole wheat bowties instead of macaroni. And, I used the southwestern style tomatoes.

I have made this many times. It is definitely a favorite here and gets made once a week. I changed things up a bit. I used 1 tablespoons chopped cilantro, 2 packets of taco seasoning (instead of one), 3 cans of Diced tomatoes with mild green chilies (drained), 1/2 of a medium sized onion, 1 lb bag of frozen corn, 1- 16oz can of black beans (drained & rinsed). We also use 16oz box of whole wheat pasta. Mix together & pour into a 13x9 baking dish. Top with cheddar cheese & Bake! I love using a dollop of sour cream on top. It gives it an added creaminess that I like. Enjoy!

This is so good. Far better than I expected! I did take previous suggestions of adding corn and olives, but I also added can of diced tomatoes and a small can of roasted garlic tomatoe sauce instead of the one can of plain tomatoe sauce. I added the same amount of water and followed the recipe exactly otherwise. Thank you for the awesome addition

The taco bake was a hit last night! I think next time I'll put a little more tomato sauce in the meat so it covers the noodles better but besides that I wouldn't change a thing.

Very good! My husband and 20-month-old loved it. It was a little too rich/cheesy for me (and that is saying something!). I think I'll cut back to 1 1/2 cups of cheese next time. I shredded the cheese myself instead of using preshredded, so that may have made a difference. We'll definitely make again!
