No meat needed. I doubled the onion and used egg substitute, skim milk and reduced fat swiss cheese slices. I layered the cheese on the bottom before adding the onion. It was fabulous. Great as a main dish or as a side.

I added some different things, I have used this recipe 2 times and it was really good both. Try adding ham and a little cheddar cheese, or mushrooms and peppers.

Have made this as-is, and thought it was pretty tasty. This go-'round I split the recipe between two deep-dish pie shells (doubling only the egg-cheese-salt mixture), used sweet onions (vidalia), and added spinach. Great as a base-recipe, or word-for-word.

This recipe was great. I had never made a quiche before & we had 4 hungry guys staying with us. For the pie crust I used a pate brisee which was in my freezer, leftover from something. I didn't have swiss, so I used a fiesta blend cheese instead. I cooked 1 pound of bacon & crumbled it into the eggs. The recipe turned out fantastic! The guys loved it & pretty much ate the whole thing.

I add bacon to this one, but I love it. I think the it call for to much onion though, so I use less.

I had the best of intentions to make this recipe as written, but made a lucky error. I accidently forgot the pastry shell at the store and was too lazy to go back. I happened to have some frozen phyllo dough sheets on hand and made this like a breakfast lasagna, layering sheets of phyllo dough between layers of the egg mixture. To make it more dinner-appropriate I added some grilled shimp into the mix.

excellent. Delicious! Hubby and baby ate it up. I didnt use the flour (no need?) and I added chopped up pre-cooked sausage and frozen broccoli (thawed before adding) as additions. The swiss cheese was really great.

This was really easy and delicious! I'm not even that big of a quiche fan, and I loved it. I'll definitely make this again. I sprinkled some cracked pepper over the top, and next time I might add a dash of tabasco.

I just made this quiche for the second time, and both times it has been DELICIOUS. I added pre-cooked, cubed ham and I don't know if I would have liked it as much without it. The flavor of the ham just complements the onion and the swiss cheese so well. I also used fat free half & half and probably more than the recommended 2 cups of swiss (I just shredded a whole bar of the cheese). We had it for dinner and it was so good that 4 adults and one 2-year-old finished the entire thing!!! The flavor is so great, and EVERYONE I made this for (it was for a large family get-together last time) gave me rave reviews. This time it didn't have the dryness(not sure if I'm explaining this right) I would have liked (although the inserted knife did come out clean), but it was probably my fault because I was in a hurry for dinner to be ready and didn't let it stand for 10 minutes like the recipe says. Try it, you'll love it!!

I've made this a couple of times with added variations; 4 slices bacon chopped, vidalia onion and scallions, used fat free 1/2 & 1/2, cheddar, swiss and parmesan cheese mixed and sprinkled top with Mrs. Dash...it always comes out well. Also quickly puts together for a nice supper.
