This BBQ Sauce recipe is THE best!!! I was looking for one without soy sauce and found it! I even made 4 copies so I wouldn't lose it. I doubled the recipe the first time and froze it for later. Had some on the side for dunking chicken in. Family LOVED it. It's a keeper!

It was too sweet for my liking but it became better with age, I cooked it with some chicken cubes in it and I left out the corn syrup... not bad but I dont think I'll be making it again.

This sauce rocks. Both of our kids have trouble with soy digestion, so it was nice to find a bbq sauce that doesn't contain soy at all. It's pretty obvious, but the cook time doesn't include the time to get the stuff to a boil. Also, learn from me, start with a pot that's at least 3.5 qt. I had to relocate the sauce from a 3qt pan to a 3.5 qt to give it some space.

This BBQ sauce is wonderful. I didn't have tomato paste so I used tomato sauce and we like it spicy so I added 2 tsp. groung red pepper and 2 tsp. crushed red pepper. Simmered for about 30 minutes. I will definatly be making this again.

This sauce was good. I did cut the brown sugar down a bit. I also added garlic powder, rather than use the garlic pepper. I also upped the liquid smoke to 2 TBSP. I made this to go with dinner for guests and they loved it! However, my husband and I enjoy a spicier sauce, so in the future, I'll spice it up a bit. All in all, it was a great sauce.

Excellent recipe for a clone of Famous Dave's Sweet & Zesty BBQ sauce. I just double the celery salt and add a tsp of ground cumin and it suits our tastes perfectly.

I used this recipe on some pork steaks i had cut up into bite size pieces, and browned in a skillet. I then put the meat into the sauce and let it simmer over low heat for about an hour. Talk about delicious! Served it up with mashed potatoes, corn on the cob, and coleslaw. Would also be good over rice or egg noodles. Try it and enjoy.

Loved it. I added more liquid smoke, smoked paprika, and lots of cayenne b/c I like the sweet/hot/tangy sensation. Simmered it for an hour to get that perfect consistency. Had family over and served over a slow cooked shredded pork shoulder...wow. I halved the recipe and it made more than enough to cover all that meat, so halve it unless you want to freeze some. Would be DELICIOUS on chicken. Thanks for this recipe!!
