liked it worked well. Only thing I would do different is add just a little somtehing Tablespoon of pineapple juice and tsp.of hot sauce. Great texture had to use flour instead of cornstarch turned out fine have to double flour to cornstarch. Good eating!

This hit the spot although i did put about 3 more tablespoons of ketchup than the recipe asked for and it was amazing.

Excellent recipe. I added a bit more ketchup as recommended in other reviews, and it was better than most sweet and sour sauces I get at local restaurants. Definitely a keeper! Thank you!

Very good and simple usually I am weary of recipes without the pineapple but this pulled it off beautifully!

Good. I used Orange Juice instead of water, and it was WONDERFUL, very tangy.

This is sooooo easy to make and I had all the ingredients on hand, what else can you ask for?! I served it with some egg rolls that I made from this site and it was very yummy. I'll never buy bottled sweet & sour sauce again!

FAST AND EASYYYYYY!-- EVERYONE has these ingredients in their kitchen cupboard! I read several reviews before jumping in. My take - I only used about 2/3rds of the soy sauce called for, and I doubled the ketchup. I put in about 1/3 lg. can of pineapple and about 1/4 cu of the pineapple juice. Then.. I added about 2 1/2 tablespoons cornstarch and simmered it. It turned out PERFECT... and we loved it! *NEXT TIME* I'll try the other suggestion of leaving the ingredients alone and adding 1 tablespoon of honey.

This was a tasty sauce for cream cheese wontons. I'm sure that the full amount of soy sauce would have been too much for my taste, however. Half was plenty. I also used pineapple juice instead of water. I'd like to try this recipe again using rice vinegar instead of white.

Tasted too much like soy sauce for my liking- everything else was good, consistency, easy to make. Maybe just add less soy sauce & replace with pineapple juice or crushed pineapple.

This was absolutely good. I seared chicken breast strips in butter and garlic, and added this sauce to the skillet, simmered in the oven and served over jasmine rice.

This is definitely one of the best sweet and sour sauce recipes I've ever had. I put meatballs in this and then tried it on ribs. My husand even had the sauce over rice for dinner one night! It is certainly versatile and I am anxious to try it on or with other things!

My family liked this better than the red fake stuff in the bottle. I used 1/4 c brown sugar and 1/2 cup white sugar. I doubled the amount of ketchup. We like pineapple, so I diced a tablespoon of pineapple and mixed it in, too. It had a great flavor. Great new option for chicken in my house. I ate it with egg rolls and it was great. Thanks!

I was skeptical because the receipt didn't call for pineapple but it actually was pretty good. The ketchup was just the right amount to not make it taste like ketchup. I give it 5 stars.

Awesome sauce.. it turned out perfectly for me! It took only a few minutes to thicken and it was nice and glossy looking. I use it when I make meatballs, and my boyfriend just loves it!

Family loved this great and quick recipe. Little boys love sweet and sour chicken so I went ahead and made some chicken and used this sauce. They loved the sauce and the chicken. Will definitely add to our list of regulars. Next time I may try it with a little less soy sauce.
