So simple. I almost always have the ingredients on hand. Great for dipping our egg rolls.

Most of the ingredients are household staples which makes the recipe very appealing. Vinegar can be overpowering unless you balance it out with a sweet and a citrus. My suggestion is to use orange zest (and a few tablespoons of orange juice), ginger and crushed pineapple... You will taste a major difference in both balance and texture. Otherwise this is a great recipe for a quick fix!

SUPER GOOD, fast, easy and cheap. Its not like the bright orange sweet and sour found at chinese places, but it is just as good if not better.

I really liked this recipie! But in addition to the simple ingredients, I added about a tsp. of minced garlic for extra flavor (although, none is needed-this sauce is able to stand on it's own). I had some chicken thighs but nothing to make with them except for rice and some frozen veggies. I decided to look on-line for a sauce with ingredients that I already had in my pantry- this was the only one that sounded simple enough to a laymen such as myself. My reason for five stars: This is a simple recipie for such a great sauce! It filled my house with the most wonderful, rich aroma... my hubby came home and declared me a domestic goddess. Yum yum. I will be making this again soon! ^_^

Great! I halved the recipe and followed it exactly. It's slightly more tangy then the red stuff you get from chinese restaurants but still very good.

I had frozen meatballs and needed a sauce, and this was great! My teen boys loved it! I used pineapple juice instead of water, and 1/2 cup brown sugar with 1/4 cup white sugar as suggested by other reviewers. It was very sweet but had just enough sour to it. It was great the next day as well!

This was not to my liking. It was either too thin or tasty too starchy when I tried to thicken it.

This sauce was great! We had it with our egg rolls tonight, very good! I think it would be best with a lo mein, or sweet and sour chicken, but we loved it as a dipping sauce too. The only ingredient change I made was to use about 1/2c. white sugar and 1/4c. brown sugar. I heated up all the ingredients except the cornstarch, then ladeled a little of the hot mixture into a bowl and added my cornstarch to that, as was suggested earlier. Be sure to mix it well and only add it back in a little at a time. It thickened up almost instantly! Took about 3 minutes start to finish. This one will go in my "permanent" file.

This recipe is great. My friend and I decided to make it as topper on left over pork chops, and it was delicious. The only difference we made was by adding a little pineapple. It gave it a bit more zing and sweetness. This sauce also goes wonderful on rice, almost teriyaki reminiscent.

I followed this exactly as the recipe states and it was pretty good. My DD liked it and it was her I made it for so mission complete. I would like to try a few of the other recipes before I make this one again.

liked it worked well. Only thing I would do different is add just a little somtehing Tablespoon of pineapple juice and tsp.of hot sauce. Great texture had to use flour instead of cornstarch turned out fine have to double flour to cornstarch. Good eating!
