This simple sweet and sour sauce is delicious with egg rolls, spring rolls and other Asian-inspired delicacies. The pineapple tidbits may be omitted. Alter the amount of cornstarch as needed to obtain desired consistency.

This is the best I've made. It tastes like the ones I have tried at Chinese restaurants.

Serve as a dipping sauce with Asian-inspired dishes. This sauce is terrific with spring rolls or dumplings.

Vietnamese Dipping Sauce

Submitted by: BALISAL
A dipping sauce for rice rolls and for barbecued chicken, beef, pork or fish. Perfect for salads as is, or mix with a little vegetable oil. Make smaller quantities with lime or lemon juice but refrigerate as this will not last as the rice vinegar version does.

Tempura Dipping Sauce

Submitted by: Crimson
The traditional Japanese dipping sauce for shrimp or vegetable tempura. This is the full-flavored version - unlike the thinner, watery, less robust sauce being served in some restaurants. Serve in small bowls at each setting. Optionally, provide grated fresh ginger and grated daikon to mix into sauce.

Sweet and Sour Chutney

Pungent and quite wonderful. Dates, tamarind extract, cumin, brown sugar and water are blended in the food processor. The concoction that emerges is so sweet and so sour, you 'll love it spooned on just about everything.
