I read the other reviews and used champagne vinegar instead of white and not nearly as much, just a small pour. Its probably more sweet than most people like but a good recipe if you're new to cabbage.

Just like my father's favorite recipe I remembered as a child! I too do not care for a strong vinegar taste, so I added only 1/4 cup and it seemed just right!

Extremely strong vinegar taste. Overwhelmingly so. I added some more sugar, and it still seemed overpowering altho not as much so. Will definitely not make this again.
