Sweet Smoky Sandwiches

2 Granny Smith apples, cut into thin slices
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1/2 cup soft cream cheese with honey and nuts
8 slices whole grain bread
12 ounces thinly sliced smoked turkey breast

DIRECTIONS
TOSS apple slices with lemon juice; drain.
SPREAD cream cheese evenly on 1 side of each bread slice; top 4 slices evenly with apple slices and turkey.
TOP with remaining bread slices, cream cheese side down.

Very tasty! If you use a lower fat cream cheese it's pretty good for you, too! I liked the addition of fresh lemon juice...I personally liked the tart/sweet combo.

my husband took the apples off and ate them seperately, but i really liked them on the sandwich. gives a great crunch. we sometimes like to put butter on the and grill them, too. oh and ham works well with this if you have it.
