Only omitted poppy seeds because didn't have them. Recommend using white onion. Wouldn't change anything about this, perfect coleslaw recipe!

I gave it 3 stars because I didn't try the actual recipe due to how many complaints there where of how sweet it the recipe is. So I used 1/4 of a cup of white sugar. Then I used an Italian dressing instead of white vinegar. I also used a Vegan Mayonnaise instead of regular and instead of poppy seeds I just salt and pepper. I'm kind of amazed at how good it turned out not using the vegan Mayonnaise.

I am not a coleslaw eater but I made this for a family cookout. I followed the recipe other than cutting the sugar back to 1/3 cup and substituting the poppy seeds for celery seed as others suggested. I am told it is great and certainly a keeper.

Almost identical to my mother-in-law's down-home southern slaw recipe. We do use only 1/4 cup sugar and up the vinegar to 2 tbl. I used Chia seeds instead of poppy seeds; and it was wonderful!

This is the first time I've ever made homemade coleslaw. It was perfect! Shredded my own cabbage and carrots for 1/2 the price of what the bagged stuff costs. I didn't have poppy seeds but I will try to have them next time! Used light mayo instead of miracle whip and the sugar sweetened it! Love love it!!!

The most amazing cole slaw you'll ever eat! (and it's super easy too!) If you like sweet/creamy slaw then this is it! Every family event everyone asks me to make this cole slaw because everyone loves it!

A 5 with my changes and a 4 as is. I omit the white sugar and use honey or agave nectar. I use mayo with no extra oil and I also use red onion for color. I have used the same dressing with shredded broccoli salad and the family loves that too.
