We really liked this slaw, I used fresh chopped cabbage and carrots and added 2 green onions (a lot more than called for), used Splenda in place of white sugar and it was sweet and oniony good!

Cole Slaw usually improves as it sits and marinates. This one did not. It got VERY watery. It was also way too sweet for my taste. I will not make this one again. I will keep looking for a better recipe.

My brother made this recipe and it was the bomb! I couldn't stop eating it. I don't think he altered the recipe at all and it was a tad sweet.

I only used half the sugar and it tasted wonderful. I didn't have a package of coleslaw so I shredded a small garden cabbage. Served with curly fries, mixed veggies, and "Beer Batter Fish Made Great."

This was perfect. My first attempt at coleslaw and it was a huge hit. I never tried before because I have tasted so many coleslaw recipes that I did not like, but this is a keeper. Thanks Sandi!

BEST slaw I have ever had and so easy! I used both celery and poppy seed (1/2 tablespoon of each). My husband likes foods that have a "kick" so I have also made this and added a about half of a jalapeno pepper (finely diced). Either way...this was by far the best coleslaw I have ever made!

Very good coleslaw! It was too sweet for me also as it was, so I cut the sugar back to 1/4c and added 2 Tablespoons rice wine vinegar. I didn't have poppy seed or celery seed, so I used a pinch of celery salt, in addition to the regular salt (cut back a bit on the regular) and then a good dose of fresh ground black pepper. Let sit in the fridge fot 2 1/2 hours, and then ate with dinner. YUM!!! Added another 1/2 bag of slaw to the left overs and it was perfect again the next day. Thanks for a great recipe.

Maybe the chain restaurants use different recipes in different regions, because this was far sweeter than anything I've tasted at those places. It wasn't bad, just a little too sweet, and maybe a little too wet. I like to use leftover coleslaw on sandwiches, and this completely overpowered and "mushed up" the bread in a way most recipes (and the stuff from the restaurants) doesn't.

This has a real good flavor but I recommend not putting in the whole 1/2 cup of sugar.I just put 1/4th and this was plenty.A great tasting cole slaw! Thanks for sharing!!

This was my first time making coleslaw and it turned out delicious!! My daughter who hates coleslaw even ate it and loved it! She said mainly because its creamier than what she's had before, rather than watery kind. I am much more into healthy eating these days and made 3 changes. I used Cholestrol free Canola Mayo, used 1 spoon of canola oil replacing spoond of veg oil and instead of sugar I used 3-4 individual packs of Splenda. Yummmmmmmy!!!! Thanks!!

This tasted fantastic! I made it two different ways: one with salad dressing (Miracle Whip) and real mayo. I read all the reviews and was worried it may come out too sweet. I mixed the dressing mixture first then adding sugar just a little bit at a time to taste. I ended up using 1/3 c and it was perfect for our tastes. I will say though the Miracle Whip one is sweeter than the real mayo one so that could be the key. I also used celery seed instead of poppy seeds mainly because that's what I had on hand. My mom who thought it was a silly idea for me to make this and said wouldn't eat it absolutely loved it and told me I had to make it more often. This will become a bbq staple!

Perfect Taste! I used hellmann's mayo and rice vinegar. Excellent. The rice vinegar is a milder vinegar that gives the slaw a perfect kick without overpowering. Oh, and when I measured out the sugar, I stopped just below the 1/2c. line

I followed the instruction, but like others I cut back on the sugar. The flavor was OK, nothing special, but after sitting overnight, it was a runny mess. Very unappealing to look at and eat. Guess I'll keep looking for the ultimate recipe.
