boiled potatoes, drained and then added other ingredients. Didn't add that much sugar as pears were in heavy syrup (but drained). I enjoyed but some people were put off by the pears. (perhaps will mash them even more next time).

Loved this! Cooked the potatoes on the stove instead of the microwave and made a small batch since hubby doesn't care for sweet potatoes. The kids and I LOVED it! Oh yeah, I mashed everything with a hand masher, I like a little chunkier consistency and that was wonderful too. There were visible pieces of pear left and that was great!

I made this dish for my sister's family and my family and it was a tremendous hit! The pears add just the right hint of flavor and texture. I must say though that I love cinnamon so I doubled the cinnamon. Great recipe and very nutritious! I plan on adding this to our Thanksgiving meal.
