This splendidly spicy, buttery rendition of the Old South Favorite is more historically authentic by using brown sugar and remembering to add GINGER to the spices. Very early American, old fashioned and perfectly delicious. Can also be doubled for two pies.

Absolutely amazing! Loved it! I doubled the ingredients to make two pies but I ended up with enough filling for three. Added some vanilla (can't break that habit) and it was great. Also, I don't have a food processor but the ingredients mixed just fine with a spoon or a whisk. Thanks for the recipe Cathy!

cooked this the night before thanksgiving and gave my dad a sample piece. he rated it "the best sweet potato pie he ever tasted." that is really saying something because he has been eating it since he was a kid. i used the Mrs. Smith deep dish pie crust and light brown sugar. totally fab.

I'm new to cooking and forgot to separate the eggs & cooked it at 400 degrees for the whole cycle. It still turned out delicious. I'll try it again the right way and it should be even better.

Fantastic! I made this for my boyfriend who had trepidations about trying sweet potatoe pie. He adored it and begged me to make it again! He said it wasn't overly sweet and went great with the turkey dinner I fixed for Easter. It was fun and easy to put together, which was ideal since I'm not much for baking.
