Sweet Potato Pie I Recipe Reviews - Allrecipes.com (Pg. 6)

This recipe is really good as is but I found that it's even better with a couple of changes. I like to bake the sweet potatoes instead of boiling them. If you have time, I think the flavor is better with baking. I also use half brown and half white sugar. The first time I made this pie, I thought it was a little too sweet for me so I use slightly less than 1 cup of sugar. It turns out really yummy!

This pie is wonderful and so simple to make. I made this for our Thanksgiving. My 1o year old niece preferred this over the pumpkin pie we had made.

This pie was amazing! It was my first time trying sweet potato pie and I am quite proud of myself. I followed some of the other reviews and used brown sugar (only 1/4 cup) instead of the white.I didn't want it too sweet since I was going to add marshmallows to the top. I also used 2% condensed milk and just the egg whites to cut down on some badness. I can't wait for a Christmas party so I can bring this! Thanks for sharing.

I have rated this pie before and given it 5 stars. I wanted to come back and show some more love to the recipe. I made it again for a Christmas gathering and it was just as marvelous this time too! This is a must keep recipe.

I made this recipe for Thanksgiving. I followed the instructions just as they were written. Pies came out very tasty. My kids and I loved it. I will definitely be using this recipe for Christmas as well. Thanks.

I used this recipe for Thanksgiving and my family loved it!!! I made a few modifications: Add the following- 1 1/2 Teaspoons of Lemon Extract; 1 Cup of light brown sugar; and A dash of Allspice

Pretty good pie. I wish the directions would have stated that you puree the sweet potato. Some of the larger potatoes had spots where they were not completely boiled to the right consistency. So, my pie had little mini chunks of sweet potato. My family didn't care, but if I was making this for a crowd, I would be more careful to puree the potatoes. Also, I used pumpkin pie spice because that is what I had. It seemed to work out well.
