Really, really good. (Although I made with about 6-7 cups yams and only 1/2 cup white sugar.) This will definitely become part of my thanksgiving repertoire.

This was so good! I used canned sweet potatoes and added a little cinnamon and nutmeg to the mixture and topping. I also like others was afraid it might be too sweet so I used less sugar and brown sugar. My son's loved this.. and how many young men will even try a sweet potato dish. This was very good and my son said I need to make this more often, not just Thanksgiving.

This is one of the dishes I had to bring to our Thanksgiving Family Dinner. I baked 6 medium sized sweet potatoes (on the advice of other reviewers) and used a 9 x 13 pan.. it made the potato mixture a little shallow so i think next time I may try using 8 sweet potatoes. In the potato mixture I used 1/2 brown sugar and 1/2 white sugar. I also used 1 1/4 c. pecans & 1 1/4 c. brown sugar for the topping just to make a little extra. The topping came out perfect! In fact the whole casserole was great & there wasn't even a bite left! Every one really enjoyed it. I will absolutely make this again only changing the amount of sweet potatoes I use. And baking the potatoes instead of boiling them really makes a difference!

Yummy! This is definitely a keeper. Per others' comments, I used less sugar (3/4 cup) and more vanilla (1 tsp total). Doubling the topping is a must! I also added some nutmeg and cinnamon. This was my first time making a sweet potato casserole and it was a HUGE hit with all my guests.

I tried this recipe for Thanksgiving and it was a hit. My kids, who hate sweet potatoes, totally devoured it and asked when I was going to make it again. For those of you who are skeptics, definitely try it. I used the canned yams and it make for a fast side dish. I had it prepped and ready to go in the oven after the turkey was done. I agree with the reviewer to double the topping. It was definitely a must have!

This was the best sweet potatoes my family has ever had. It went over very well. I added mini marshmellows to the potatoes just because I had them and it worked very well.

I made this recipe for Thanksgiving this year and got rave reviews. It was even declared the star of the dinner. After preparing it according to the recipe a few days before Thanksgiving, my husband and I decided that it was too sweet and seemed too much like a dessert. So for the day of we halved both amounts of sugar making it much more enjoyable. Everyone loved it. I will be making this every year. Super simple too!

My family is not a sweet potato family... we just never like them or eat them, yet my aunt makes them every year. I guess more for tradition. This year I knew she wasn't coming over, so I figured I'd try my hand at it this year with this recipe. What a great idea! These were delicious!!!! My family couldn't get enough of them and they were sooo good! I did do a few adjustments, but not much... I used about 5 cups of mashed sweet potatoes, used the light butter and splenda, 1 teaspoon of vanilla and that's about all I changed. Thanks for making my family love sweet potato casserole!

This was delicious! I lost my old recipe so decided to give this a try. The topping is a great treat. My husband was disappointed at first when I was making sweet potatos without marshmallows on top. He loved this! Definitely will be saving this one!

Best recipe ever. Everybody at the table thought that was the best dish. I have been making it for 2 Thanksgivings already. I did not change the recipe at all, I added Marshall Mellow on part of the dish and this dish is better without it for sure. This recipe is definitely a keeper.

I took another reviewer's advice and baked the potatoes instead of boiling; saved time by throwing them in the oven with whatever was cooking and preserved the great flavor! The only change I made was to use half brown and half white sugar in the taters just as a taste preference. The topping was delicious and hard not to gobble up by itself. My family raved! Fluffy, sweet, and delicious!

The biggest hit at our Thanksgiving dinner! I halved the amount of white sugar in the sweet potatoes and used the full amount of brown sugar in the topping. It was just the perfect sweetness.

This was delicious though I made minor changes. Instead of milk, I used half and half. I cut the white sugar back to ½ a cup and used another ½ cup of brown sugar. I also added nutmeg and cinnamon. I made 1 ½ batches of the topping, too. I would HIGHLY recommend using fresh sweet potatoes, not canned. And make sure you bake them without foil. This dish is still divine the next day, too. I just ate a small plate of it for breakfast. The topping doesn’t get mushy, still crunchy and yummy.
