I had to bring a snack for a group of 20; this worked perfectly! Easy to make and relatively easy clean up.

This is basically puppy chow without the butter. I'd always wondered if it would turn out without butter but I figured it would be gross so I never tried it. Well one night I came across this recipe and decided to give it a shot and boy am I glad I did. This came out just as great as any puppy chow I've ever made with butter but now with a lot less calories. Not that it's a healthy snack but hey leaving out the butter really cuts the calories without messing up the taste. I even had to use these chocolate and white chocolate swirled chips because it's all I had and it still came out great. Thanks so much for this recipe. Now I can stuff my face with puppy chow and not feel as guilty!! ;-)

We call this recipe "puppy chow" where I'm from, and it has always been a big hit. The only thing different we do is microwave the peanut butter instead of chocolate chips. The heat from the peanut butter melts the chips fast and in my opinion is easier.

This is very excellent, I make it every Christmas for the kids to munch on! I have always used Crispix cereal though, it is bigger than the Chex cereal and has more surface for the chocolate mixture to adhere to. I have never tried the pretzels and peanuts, I'm gonna try that this time.

I like to use Crispix when making these. They come out evenly coated and with just the right ratio of chocolate and cereal.

Easy and quick. Sometimes I'll add a little vanilla to the melted chocolate/peanut butter mixture before adding the chex. Great recipe when you need something sweet...fast.

Yum! We substituted some of the chex mix with pretzels and nuts and it tastes great! Also, we put the dry ingredients into the plastic bag and poured the melted chocolate and peanut butter on top and mixed. Then we added the powdered sugar to the same bag and mixed. This method seems to minimize breakage of the cereal and is surprisingly mess-free.
