Lovely recipe and SO good! I used dried diced onions because my kids don't like the crunchy onion taste. I used only the carrots for veggie to give it color. The dressing is terrific!

My family LOVES this! My daughter isn't a big 'veggie-fan', so I put the carrots, peppers and onions in the food processor and gave them a whirl! I then drained them on some paper towels (I can't believe how wet veggies can get!)...then added in as per the recipe! It made the prettiest orange color and looked like confetti in the salad! It was a HUGE HIT! Thanks for sharing!!

I made it exactly as the recipe said, but did not add any additional sugar. Even still, it was WAY too sweet - and there was WAY too much vinegar. Also, it was too thick. If you want to make a good macaroni salad with a smoother taste, I would suggest following the recipe, but use either 1/4 c. sugar or 1/4 c. condensed milk (not both - the condensed milk will make the the m. salad thicker), 1/4 c. of vinegar and 1/4 can of condensed milk.

At first, the sauce had a really odd flavor. I did not use the sugar and only 1/2 of the sweetened condensed milk. The next day, however, the flavors did work together and it was very good. I have seen a similar recipe on other sites and I believe they call for using evaporated milk and sugar instead of sweetened condensed and sugar. Makes sense - why else would you put sugar into more sugar and why would almost everyone leave out or cut the sugar/sweetened condensed milk. May try that combo next time. Made it for my daughter's bridal shower today...cross your fingers!

I have been looking for this recipe for so long. I have to admit, I did alter it just a tidge - I added one large cucumber and some cheddar cheese - Perfect, absolutely perfect.

Love it! I got this from Taste of Home mag way back and it is a must when we go camping. Always better the next day. Only change, I use bow tie noodles, looks pretty and easier to stab with your fork.

This was pretty good, easy to make. Was a little to sweet. Cut the sugar in half and used half can of condensed milk. Took to a potluck and ladies enjoyed it. Thanks!!

I really liked this, but my husband and kids said it was a bit sweet. Next time, I'll just add less sugar.

I've done almost like this, which i got from a friend. I used about 3 or 4 cans of tropical fruit cocktail, mixed with the cooked elbow macaroni, a cup of mayonnaise, half can of condensed milk (depends on how sweet you want), a can of pineapple tidbits (drained), and some shredded cheddar cheese. all mixed up and put in the fridge overnight. it taste really good. i brought this in some parties and everyone asked me for the recipe.
